Hoover don't make Dyson so 90% cannot be :p

Its amazing the amount of people just call vacuum cleaners Hoovers, there again mine actually is a hoover.
#7
I've got a Dyson, I'll never buy another one as long as I live.
#8
I looked online and it mentions you can do this with Click and Collect.

Didn't see any that struck me as a bargain.
#9
AEG are better.
#10
you couldn't pay me to take a dyson away from the store!
miele are far and away the superior brand :)
#11
As a cleaner myself, trust me do not get Dyson.
#12
Have had our Dyson for around 5 years and its by far the best we had and is still going strong and so have my relatives and friends with no problems so I dont think its fair to say 'dont buy a dyson' however i have also heard rave reviews about miele
#13
To stop confusion just for this thread it might be helpful to not call general vacuum cleaners 'hoovers' ;-)

They used to be brilliant, great build quality, etc. I remember buying the DC04 about 6 or 7 years ago. Still working brilliantly though we don't have it as brother-in-law wanted to buy it off us, and we were looking to get a new one for the new house.

Bought a DC07 last year and have had nothing but trouble with it. Tools keep breaking, had a replacement hose already, and need to have one again. That and it's like a limpet when you try to move any distance away from it with the hose makes it in my eyes, the single biggest piece of s*** I've bought in a vacuum cleaner.

That said, the new Baby Dysons, are great and would recommend them. Wife has shoulder problems, so instead of lumbering a heavy Dyson, the baby one was just right for her.

AEG are better.

They were until Electrolux bought them out.

My Daughters Dyson actually caught fire, so no more Dysons.
#18
can the title not be changed? it is a bit misleading as the offer is all 'VACUUMS' (and handhelds).... including Hoovers! (who also make washing machines, tumble dryers, fridge freezers etc lol)

Amusingly I might turn up with a Hoover washing machine just to confuse things lol

If you want the best upright theres only on brand..... SEBO.

Had Sebo before and not bad but needed expensive repair before dying completly.

Will only get Miele's now - when they give you 10 years parts & labour you know it's quality. Besides, if you do have to do the vacuming now and then at least it is fun with the high beam headlights and being articulated!

I've always been a Dyson fan although after the last one gave up last week and I bought a Samsung - I can honestly say that I would never have another Dyson. You kinda get brainwashed into thinking they are great but if you have something else you realise just how average Dysons are! My Samsung was a third of the price of my last Dyson and is absolutely superb - better suction, much lighter and far easier to use. Never again will I be brainwashed by the Dyson design into thinking they are great!
#21
Agreed, Dyson used to make washing machines that had to be bolted to the floor or wall, that is/was real engineering genius.

mumbojumbo
Anyone tried it on a handheld yet? Been meaning to throw away that Dustbuster... :whistling:

Handheld hoover will blow the hot air back into the room and is really back for you!
#23
I've had my Dyson for years and years without any problems and it is brilliant, particularly good on carpets. The problem is that it is so good that there is no point on spending the fortune that a new one would cost. If it ever does expire then there is nothing else out there to touch it for carpet cleaning so I will have to cough up. Tried quite a few others, but none can live with the Dyson for my needs.
#24
Is the 20% only off dysons?
#25
Is this a good buy? with 20% off will around £146

Dysons are the worse hoover ever - fact! Was one of my worst purchases ever and was glad to see it getting brought to the dump :( Henry has never let me down :D
#28
I have a Dyson - had it for 2 years and it is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have ever had. Mine is the DC14 and is a brilliant vacuum cleaner and never had a problem with it (so far :)). Carpets look like new after they've been Dyson'd!

Aren't Dysons like iPods? There's more of them around so you're bound to hear more complaints.
#32
with most dyson vacuums you get a 5 year warranty included in the purchasing price

that is confidence inspring to me

shame more manufacturers, dont have tha balls or have faith in there equipment to offer the same.

lol once again - Dyson are nothing to do with Hoover - they are competitors! :p
#34
had dyson for years still ok the only bagless one that works tryed loads of other bagless cleaners they clogged up filters more often than a bag fills so useless really ? the dyson filter never seems to block up filter best cleaner imo bit expensive though
#35
Just gone for this deal as had a broken DC01 so now got the DC25. The date is not restricted to this weekend however as the signs said until 14th August.
Thanks OP as for the money I paid for this higher spec one I was originally going to get a lesser one.
#36
hi.i am also a cleaner,on cdiscount they had a dc25,ball vacuum for about £219.00.but if you're a new customer you got £15 off with a code, and also £13 back if you use quidco. So all in all it's costing about £190.00 and you get 3months to pay it off by installments.Im extremely pleased with mine.have had a dyson before for years, tried another make and have gone back to a dyson as could have quite happily chucked the other one out of the window.
#37
just left message, but forgot to say that dyson ball also retails for about £270.so i think i got a bargain and am v v v pleased with it.
#38
Dysons are hoovers because 'hoover' is a genericized trademark an id synonymous with vacuum cleaner. The word 'hoover' has also become a verb describing using one.
#39

Dyson is a successful British company, which means a lot of British people automatically and irrationally hate them.
