I posted this yesterday, having ordered one myself, but it expired after about half an hour. Haven't received another Camel3 notification about it today so I'm intrigued as to how it's been reposted today. FWIW, at least one person has apparently had an email saying the deal was a misprice and won't be honoured but my order still appears to be scheduled for delivery. I'll post an update on any developments on MY thread, the ORIGINAL posting, for anyone interested. ;)
yeah i seen ur post today and noticed it had expired , so i reposted it today , looks like the same thing has happened today to the deal

Kingston Technology HyperX 3K 2.5 inch 120GB SSD - £41.35 delivered - Amazon/Trade Media Ltd

So cheap it's a possible misprice. Still, worth a punt for a SATA3 120GB SSD. And all thanks to our friends at Camel3. :p

Hi,
I have read most of the postings and I possibly was one of the first to purchase this item when it appeared on HD. I have experienced the same, dispatched o 20th, did not arrive, told to wait until 15 days had passed. Received e-mail today asking if I had the item, told them no then told several items sent on this day had gone missing!! Although it said in earlier correspondence with then that they would either send out replacement or refund, when I replied today to their e-mail stating that they would refund, asking for a replacement item, I have received no reply. All this seems rather strange as it appears to have affected all those who purchased at the initial advertised price, I wonder if any person purchasing at the higher price has been affected?
Of course it's also possible that this is a government conspiracy to make us all lose faith in Royal Mail. The fact that it's not working makes it even more likely, given government's history of failure! :p Ooh! I just thought of another possibility. All those aliens that are no longer making crop circles must be getting bored - maybe they're hijacking courier deliveries! :D

If it was a scam then it was a spectacularly inefficient and pointless one. Let's say they sold 100 units, then kept the resulting £4300 to earn interest on. They make refunds circa 14 days later, meaning they pulled in a profit of... the price of a couple of pints? On the other hand, human error and incompetence are far, FAR more common than fraud (and aliens), despite what the tabloids would have us believe. Still, people will believe what they WANT to believe, so make up your own minds. :)

When all the refunds are in our accounts it's just another minor, meaningless episode over as far as I'm concerned. 'Nuff said...

Rather than just sending another email I decided to phone Trade Media with my questions. They were very professional on the phone but are adamant that the SSDs were dispatched via CityLink on the 20th and had no answer as to why the dispatch notice was only sent from Amazon on the 25th. If this was sloppiness on Amazon's part it's extremely out of character. Regardless, it seems to me that someone has either been incompetent or light-fingered. Personally, I don't think the company was out to defraud anyone - if they were then they'd be insisting on waiting for the full Royal Mail missing parcel period before issuing refunds rather than doing so now. It might be interesting to see if anyone advertises these SSDs on eBay at a bargain price... :p

There is a another possibility that they did dispatch, but recall all the dispatch, thus in theory and fact that they did dispatch!
The question is, did they recall all the items and get them back from CityLink deliberately?!
The CityLink 'service' using Royal Mail doesn't have tracking. I forget their term for the service but here's a link to a business forum where it's discussed: http://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=283827 - just in case anyone doubts its existence. ;)

My own experiences with CityLink have been very mixed. Just last week they were the first couriers to get my address wrong (and I order a lot of stuff online) and deliver to a place 5 miles away. However, when I phoned their CS department they contacted their driver and he was at my door half an hour later with the package. Their service seems erratic at best, going by my experiences.

Dont Citylink do tracking numbers?

Built my GF's machine around one one these. Plays Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, SimCity and many more quite demanding games at reasonable frame rates and resolutions. The CPU part has a fair bit of grunt too.

Perfect for a mid level games machine, just be sure to add decent high speed ram 2ghz+ to get the best out of the on-chip GPU. You can also crossfire the GPU inside this chip with an external graphics card for a bit of extra grunt at a later stage.

Good value for money all things considered!
That;s a good processor. Faster than anything Intel can offer.

That cnet blogger isn't a gamer. 1366x768 and aiming for 30fps - he's about 10yrs out of date.

Integrated gfx have come a LONG way but there still not good enough for anything but the casual gamer imho in an htpc - definitely not a budget gaming rig.
All the new consoles the majority of the games will run at 30fps !. Although your right I can notice the difference real gamers prefer 60fps and can notice.
Steamroller based APUs will give better performance, need FM2+ motherboard though, so bear that in mind for upgrading. It also looks like AMD aren't continuing with FX 'performance' line of CPU upgrades on AM3+ so no Steamroller or Excavator based FX CPUs in the future, looks like these cores will be used on FM2+ based APUs. So it's APUs or bust for AMD in terms of CPUs it seems. I can't really see any significant performance gains on this platform until HSA:HSAIL/HUMA kicks in next year.

This CPU is suitable for a budget system and an upgrade to an existing platform. If you're buying new, definitely check out A88X chipset/FM2+ motherboards, although you need to wait for those.

You could wait for the new Kaveri chips at the end of this year but you will need a new motherboard FM2+. This could be the start of selling off stock.

Probably be a seagate - did Samsung manufacter any internal 3TB drives before they were bought over by Seagate or am I having a blonde moment??
All Samsung 3.5 inch drives are now rebadged Seagates. They basically asset stripped the Samsung HDD business and now have them working on only the more profitable laptop drives. As every single Seagate drive I've ever owned (10+) has failed prematurely, I wouldn't touch this drive with a barge pole.

Really? Out of 10 drives, all 10 failed prematurely? Maybe it's something you're doing?
Just found this video which, although for the G3 Station, was similar enough to work. Have now got mine open to reveal (as predicted) a Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 HDD.
Mine's just arrived. No obvious way of opening it and can't find any suggestions online, which is a bit unfortunate as I want to put the HD in my Qnap NAS and use the enclosure for another disk (all withut risking the warranty!).
Paid slightly more at Expansys (£91.99 - 3.5% Quidco) but shipped same day by Express 24 post.
Hmm..was waiting for a WD 3TB hard drive to drop to £80 but tempted to go for one of these.
