Popped into several local stores this morning looking for the best trade-in deal on my Xbox 360 Elite (250Gb). I found a cracking deal at HMV £115 trade-in credit! I only had to find another £54.99 for the new Xbox Slim (250Gb).

HMV:

New Xbox 360 Slim 250Gb - £169.99
£54.99 to Pay

Trade-In Xbox 360 Elite 120Gb - £80
Trade-In Xbox 360 60Gb - £80
Trade-In Xbox 360 20Gb - £65
Trade-In Xbox 360 Core System - £50

Game:
Trade-In Xbox 360 Super Elite 250Gb - £100
New Xbox 360 Slim 250Gb - £169.99
£69.99 to Pay

Trade-In Xbox 360 Elite 120Gb - £70
Offer - £99 to Pay when you Upgrade an old Elite.

Granger's Games:
Trade-In Xbox 360 Super Elite 250Gb - £70
New Xbox 360 Slim 250Gb - £180
£110 to Pay

Game Station:
Trade-In Xbox 360 Super Elite 250Gb - £70
Trade-In Xbox 360 Elite 120Gb - £60
Offer - £99 to Pay when you Upgrade an old Elite.
(They only price match games not consoles)

This is a nationwide deal only started this week!

"You needed the Box, Console, Hard Drive, Controller, Headset, Power Cable & Brick, Network Cable and AV Cable. If it came with a bundle of games those aren't needed.

They did a quick power on and DVD disk check which took around 20minutes as he had to unbox everything."

Update: Added several other trade-in prices for older 360 Console Models

Nice find, well done.

Looking for one of those new XBOX slims myself, my current Xbox is an original 2005 20gb one, still running but so loud, and the DVD drive now has to be opened with a paperclip.

Weren't the 250gb Slims £159.99 During E3 time?
#2
did you happen to see how much they offered for the 120gb elite?
#3
Yes £80 i'll also add that to the list!

I need to trade in one of these too, I've had to revert to a wired connection as the G wireless adaptor just can't hack it!

I believe they're only offering about £30 on cex though, so there doesn't seem much point.

Yeah mine is absolutely not in any condition to be traded-in, the DVD tray doesn't eject, and I just woulnd't try to pass that off. I'd be more inclined to keep it as a spare, I also understand that there's a market on Ebay for working spares, but I don't know that I want the hassle of that either.

I should probably say i'd prefer to get it from Game, since the gamestation in this town closed, I like an over the counter sale for consoles, and I also have £32 in reward points and £23 on a gift card still to spend with them, just don't want to use up £20 of that benifit paying over the odds. GRR!!

Well in Durham today £169.99 has been the cheapest i've seen in the local stores. E3 finished last week so I guess they've gone back up. I might be going with HMV as they have given me the best price for my game trade-in's also. Crysis 2, F1 2010 and LA Noire.

Can the new ones be flashed? I have the 250gb old version, would gladly upgrade if they can be flashed, could not go from paying £3 a game to £40

No one smart has been banned for a like a year, just FYI.
I think google is the place to ask flashing questions tho. And when did DLs cost £3?

If you trade in, how do you transfer your saved Elite data to the new slim console?

Yeah I'm REALLY surprised at HUKD for allowing this. Disappointed.
#34
Shouldnt you have to add £40 to the cost because otherwise its only an offline unit? Oh and another £50-£60 if you want to watch blurays... and the price of a time machine so you can make sure you are only 15 whenever you do go online so you can hold your own in a kids conversation about how pwned you/they just were.
#35
Yeah how much for a bog standard Xbox 360?
#36
I dont get it, what is the different between an Xbox Elite and these new slims? Is it purely aesthetic?
#37
Good spot but when i click Go To Deal it opens up a page advertising an Insurance company ?

Wireless networking built in.A combined CPU/GPU architecture, smaller die process, and 1 larger fan rather than 2 small screaming fans. So more quiet, that's why I want one.
#39
So the console is cheaper in store than online?
£189.99 online..
