Sandtex Smooth Masonry Paint 7.5L Brilliant white - Trago Mills £13.99

A truly rare bargain at around half the price of everyone else. Either this is a loss leader or everyone else is charging far too much for this.

Trago Mllls, words cannot describe the pain and suffering one must go through to visit these stores.
Agreed. Very poor ergonomic design that does not appear to have changed since the stores were first opened. Despite the size of the stores, they are separated by different sections on different levels that feel totally disorganised. You can't just pick up a trolley, pile stuff in and go through a conventional check out like everywhere else. Lighting and décor feels very dated. Despite Devon and Cornwall being very popular holiday destinations one wonders why Trago Mills features very rarely on HKUD. Is it because deals of this are rare?

Surprised that there are not more comments from Janners protesting about my comments but then I remembered I found the train station. I still visit though and see all the people on Union St. Looking up at planes, pointing saying 'ere look at that metal bird'...

Then I remembered that most people there won't have the Internet...
i agree trago mills is a strange place , i like the banners they have outside , very odd , you can buy about everything there !

Great deal but I have horrid memories of being dragged around Trago as a child. I can still remember the smell. Ergh.

Great price though.
I love Trago. Always make a visit when we're in Devon visiting family. :)
Decent price, so voted hot, but with the millions of recipes available for free online these days, many with reviews, comments, videos, etc, I don't know why anyone bothers buying recipe books anymore.

About time there were some in-store deals that were available outside of London, The Midlands or the North West.................. Good old Trago
Got to love Trago!
I'd like to know what makes this a cold deal ?
These are 4 times the price online. OK not everyone can take advantage, but that don't make it a bad deal.

This should be pointed out in the original post, useless to most people - never worth £130!

The widespread adoption of thermostatic radiator valves has made the necessity of calculating radiator sizes accurately somewhat less necessary.

The ridiculous thing is that you are still supposed to have a "room stat" to switch the whole system on and off based on the temperature in one room! But I digress...

'Somewhat less necessary' perhaps, but whilst a thermo valve will stop an over-large rad from overheating a room, it will not compensate for any undersized rad.

It is quite possible for every thermo-controlled rad to be heating its own immediate area to a reasonable level but for the zone as a whole to be too hot or cold and therefore rightly responding to the zone (room) stat - which should not be close enough to any rad to be unduly influenced.

I think you are crediting central heating installers with doing more than we need to. Very few will do anything other than take a guess. Ive been doing this 15 years and have never worked out a rad size with anything but my instinct

I respect your honesty, but not perhaps your professional skills. I accept that selecting the right radiators (and other heating components) can never be an exact science but it does merit more than plucking figures out of the air.

It is not hard to find helpful info and calculators online - and I would suggest that every householder should have a go at estimating his requirements and then comparing the result with whatever the 'professional' proposes. No-one wants the wrong rad in the wrong place or to waste money.
Bogroll Warlord;7905033
Surely suitability depends on the size of your bedroom, taking into account ceiling height, number of external walls and insulation values?

actually, this is basically the trade price on radiators... most radiators are sold at three to five times what they should be

if you're buying a few, and don't need delivery, go to your local plumbers/builders merchant and quietly ask for trade and you'd be stunned by how much they can knock off - I replaced eight radiators in my house and it cost me less than £200 - some of the more popular sizes getting 80% discount.

so yes, the general public are being ripped off. and don't buy cheap crap rads, ensure they've got "kite marks" and are made to full quality, otherwise you're more likely to get corrosion problems quickly.

Yes you are totally right, builders merchants put massive mark ups on
items and people are so stupid in paying hugely over inflated prices. A bit like a B&Q once its gone its gone price when they are still making a decent profit.
