Trainline - Virgin Trains - Euston > Liverpool First Class £30.00 Glitch? Saving around £205 + upto 3.53% tcb

calday10calday10

Booking a train from Colchester to Liverpool for tomorrow and noticed the Virgin trains first class singles are only 30 quid. Specific deal but could come in handy to a few people, they have a few times to travel at that price as well.

** 30 % Cheaper as booked with 18-25 rail card

Not a glitch - just a very good price. You can often get these sort of prices (Euston to Manchester anyway) as long as you're not on a popular train. Amazingly 1st is sometimes cheaper than standard (also often happens with cross country trains)

Yeah I just looked on virgin trains apparently its up to £15 to upgrade to first at weekends.. Just a shame virgins booking page is a little hard to navigate with a rail card

Why use Trainline? The same seats are much cheaper elsewhere without all the Trainline added costs.

I always use redspottedhanky, there's no booking charge, you earn loyalty points which you can redeem towards your next ticket plus there are fairly frequently free £10 offers on.

Trainline is just easy, I've had emails from them prompting me to get a refund for tickets I never picked up as I thought they were non-refundable.. Although the perks of company suggested sound good if correct

I forgot to mention, you can also double up your Tesco clubcard vouchers for redspottedhanky vouchers. It used to be 3x but they lowered it :(

^^ I've spend over £1,000 on train tickets and never had a problem.

    I use http://www.southernrailway.com/

Same excellent website engine as red spotted hanky, no extra fees whatsoever and a massive 6% cashback (Quidco and TCB) - the hanky loyalty scheme effectively works out at 1% as £1 spent gives you a loyalty point worth 1p - pretty poor if you ask me... Plus Southern have a full money back guarantee on unused tickets!
