Obviously won't be as fast as your internal SSD, but handy if you've got a measly internal amount like me and you want to move your photos/itunes to free up space.

There are 3 versions, all "Max read: 95 MBps, max write: 60 MBps"

There's a PNY model, about £80 on Amazon, so be interested to know if anyone has a comparison with the two. This price is about the same as getting it from Amazon.com inc shipping and charges, I believe the PNY could have been had for less but now seems to have gone up to $100.

Posting as I'm thinking of buying, thought about the MicroSD+Adpator route, but 128gb MicroSD cards are fairly expensive anyway.

is it possible to put windows 7 on this so you can use both operating systems,

What is the difference between them? I suppose different size fitting different depth slot SD slot in Mac, right?

Yep, it's how deep it needs to be for the Macbook model

I'm struggling to see the advantage of these over an SD card that sticks out. Is that the only advantage, the form factor? Or is there something subtle I'm missing? Are the read/write speeds much better?

Pretty much that really. If you want it as a semi-permanent expansion, you don't want it knocking every time. Other option is MicroSD +adapter but 128gb probably around the same price or above as these anyway.

When you are travelling and taking the laptop in / out of a bag, yes the form factor is primary. Plus I have a Henge dock for my Air and it doesn't fit with a normal SD. The speed seems to be a bit more stable than a standard card, but then again I haven't tried many !
