Very hot. paid almost double for 5 of these a couple of month back ready for a trip to Florida. Thought they were decent value at that!

No problems with any of them. Working fine for 1080i Recording on my Sanyo Xacti CG100........get a hour of 1080i on each of these.
#11
HOT! just what i need. thanks for the post
#12
this is a great price for a fast card
#13
jessops, camera prices are not too bad, but they do mark up memory cards, 8GB sandisk CF card extreame 60Mbps £80, purchased from play for £30, same card at same time.

I was there the other day and noticed memory cards priced at least 100% more than online shops, and this guy purchased a 8GB sandisk extreame3 Sd card for £40 LOL, so mugs do exist to keep those companies in business

thses devices need better compression, my 5d mk2 eats GB's like a fat kid in a buffet (less than 20 Minutes with 8GB card), when recording video @ 1080p, and than look at those .MKV files of a full movie on less than 8GB with no noticeable loss in qulity

I noticed this on Amazon's website yesterday, but didn't think it could be posted, as it is sold by 'KOMPBAY' and not by Amazon themselves.

I tried a similar post last week and it was immediately expired by a mod for this reason.....:(

I just don't understand HUKD sometimes.

Stonebear: thanks very much for your informative post.

It encouraged me to download Atto Disk Benchmark myself and test the 2GB Transcend micro SD card from my mobile phone. Interestingly, this is a basic class 2 card and yet performed better than your class 10 card (at least for the write speed). Figures for file sizes of 128KB and above were around 6200 MB/sec write speed and around 9100 MB/sec read speed.

transcend are actually a pretty decent make and the figures you achieved for a supposed class 10 card are pretty shocking, which leads me to think that the card you got is either faulty or a fake. I would get back to Play.com if I were you, as something definitely isn't right.

OK I downloaded ATTO Disc Benchmark also as it looked like a powerful tool. However i cannot get it to work on a 8GB class 4 SD card I have already. The help files are useless as no first user step by step info.

I select the SD card drive and hit start but just get error "Cannot open files benchtst.$$$"

Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

Sounds to me like there was something wrong with the download. I downloaded my copy (latest version 2.46) from MajorGeeks.com:

http://majorgeeks.com/ATTO_Disk_Benchmark_d6359.html

It is a very simple little program and doesn't need any pre-configuring, or anything like that.

It downloads as a compressed file - did you 'extract' it first? - right click on the zipped file and left click 'extract all'. Once it is extracted, click on the bench 32 folder and then on the bench 32 file and you should be up and running.

Hope this helps.

Oos now, being sold by GoMemory whoever they are, I think they are a market place seller.

Thanks but...
Deleted previous download and downloaded from your link , extracted etc and tried again - same result - also tried with different SDHC card - same error. Any ideas?

you can also download atto from atto themselves
you need to register but can fill in any old junk

tbh i dont like it as depending on settings you can get wildly different results

i am not sure any of the benchmarks above are at all relevant for normal usage anyway as are all under 1mb are they not?
photos/music whatever are going to be bigger and for normal transfers of bigger files even less relevant.
total length is 4mb but does this file get broken into smaller chunks normally? whats the test doing? no idea! perhaps someone can explain.
tested a 2gb kingston fresh out of pack, atto varied from 2mb/s to 7mb/s write speeds by changing total length.(h2testw gave 6.5) help offers no real explanations either.

something like h2testw (checks legitamacy of cards) also does a speed test with a simple read/write speed result perhaps more suited to normal use.

of course - definitely seems that the sandisks are better but then haven't they been around for ages so wouldn't perhaps have thought to claim higher class if indeed they fit that spec.

yeah i'm not sure about those results, i have a sandisk ultra II and the transcend card and in my camera (continuous 4fps at 10mp) the transcend performs much better.
