This card requires a PCI-e slot and a molex power connector.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, you should probably check into the above before purchasing.

Other than that, it looks good. Reviews state to use the updated drivers on this page (device is identical to an NEC uPD720200) instead of the ones that come with the device.

It is possible to install these types of devices into the much larger PCI-e slots (x4/x8/x16) if you don't have any x1 slots.

Make sure your system can cope with this card (or even recognise it) don't be a dumb ass like I was with a USB 2.0 card when they came in! ... "But *why* isn't it working?!"

Great price, but I won't be bothering myself, will wait for this piece of junk to die get a new system with it already in.

I wonder why these cards are not appearing that fit into the standard white PCI slot. Unless this type of slot can't handle the maximum speed of USB 3.0.

Yep, not even close. These cards should come with a PCIe 4x interface ideally but PCIe hasn't been taken seriously by motherboard manufacturers so most of them come with a 1x slot. I'll buy one of these when they make them with more lanes and a front panel. Seriously, why haven't they thought of that? Do they expect people to use these for their mouse/keyboard dongle?

Great price if your mobo supports

Struggled to get mine working on my motherboard, will give the new drivers a go. But it could be the drive enclosure and I only have 1 usb3 device to check it with.

I was considering buying this a while ago but it looks like too much hassle. I managed to find an asus one which seemed good but was around the £25 mark

Not of great benefit unless you have an external SSD or very fast CF reader. Still great price though.

Not sure why this deal is getting quite so much heat when it is cheaper from quite a few other places.

£12.50 delivered at Amazon, as mentioned by Aarong above.

£12.28 delivered at Kikatek: http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=166434&source=froogle

£10.99 delivered at Base.com: http://www.base.com/buy/product/transcend-ts-pdu3-usb-3-0-expansion-card/dgc-el-02028427.htm

Why pay more from MyMemory??

Good card because lots of people use that chipset but get the latest driver http://uk.transcend-info.com/Support/DLCenter/index.asp?LangNo=0&ItemID=TS-PDU3&axn=SRH1_RLT&DLKeyWd=PDU3

...or, like me, a USB 3.0 docking station?

It's a huge benefit over USB 2.0 (even via PCIex1). I'd prefer to use eSATA for native speeds but wasn't practical in one of my systems.

My USB 3.0 external HD via onboard USB 3.0 drivers are slowing my start up (win7 64) down.
Do you think installing this might relieve the problem?

If you have any questions, I posted this card deal a couple of moths ago, but for some reason its been expired (even though still valid). One or two useful bits of info if it helps though.

My card is still working a treat.
