I popped into ASDA Cwmbran today and picked up Transformers (2 Disk) HD DVD for only £20. This is one of the cheapest prices I have seen for this especially from a main stream store!

I hope this is a nationwide deal. As you can see it is £26.97 on the ASDA site. So hopefully you'll get a bargain! like i did :)

That looks like the single disk edition to me! Not the twin disk version. Plus you will see that it is out of stock. So the negativity was unjust. If you try to find the 2 disk edition for cheaper you'll be hard pushed its £24 in HMV, £23 In Play. £27 in asda online and £23 on Amazon! I think you will find this is a pretty damn good deal!

Cool i may look to them in the future but as my first HD DVD Purchase i wanted to buy british and local ASDA suprised me! :)

oh don't get me wrong, ill be going to Asda to get it tomorrow, they have all the HDDVD and Blurays for £20 on release and this is actually worth it to have it by tomorrow.

HMV and Zavvi were both out of stock today and horrifically priced when they are back in.

Only issue now is that takes me to 15 still to watch in HD LOL

Lol it was £25 in HMV walked over to ASDA and £20 the HD DVD wasn't priced up so i took it to the kiosk and i bit her arm off at £20 lol.

There is no BR version i'm afraid, Paramount Studios decided to drop Blu Ray support and so Transformers is HD-DVD only.

Actually

You sent this message (KARPY) to me but your wrong as the hd-dvd version is £17.99 on dvd.uk and 2 DISCS

Your negative post - That was for the single disk and out of stock! Recheck the post for other price comparrisons. You will find it hard to get cheaper. Maybe i shouldn't bother in the future!

Movietyme.com have it for £17.99, but import it from somewhere like amazon.com or dvdpacific for a little less probably.

£20 for any film on any format is too much IMO unless its a limtied edition or something.

Picked up the 2 disc edition today in Sainsburys for £14.20. They have a 20% offer on from today on all chart DVDs so the original price of 16.99 was reduced down to this.

I have it on extremely good authosrity that this is the non special edition single hd dvd. The picture would back this up as the special edition looks like the image i posted!

This was the DVD Version and not the HD DVD version i am presuming as i visited sainsburys before asda and the DVD special edition was around £17-£18 in both! :) No signs of HD DVD in that particular store either. I did ask but the response i got was Sainsburys doesnt stock High Def DVD formats. However this may have just meant the few stores arund me. :) Be very interested to know if it was the case!

I asked in Sainsburys if they had the HD version, they said no they dont stock them, but I did find 3 films on blue ray!

I have a dual LG player I think both formats are equal really on video playback but my preference lays with HD DVD as it is a more robust product. One spec of dust on a blue ray disk causes problems. I thought maybe this was isolated to this player however i have also noticed this issue with the P$3 and a mates Blu ray player ( Sony BDP-S300 ) which has been updated a few times!

Dont know who the authority is but for HD DVD there is only a 2 disc version and not a single disc HD DVD

lol do you know how much a video film used to cost before it became widely available ?? no far short of 100 notes ... standard dvd itself in the mainstreet was 20 notes.....i wont moan at paying 20 quid for a hd dvd ( i wont pay hmv prices mind ) , but if i mfind it cheaper and i'm prepared to wait then i might pay less .. would need to be a good 5 quid saving ( btw my pound sign does work lol )

Its a single foreign disk! My mate had his back from there 1 disk as stated! :)
