Oops there be an error. The Sainsbury's price before discount for this is £9.97

#3
Can someone remind me what the 20% offer is about. Don't recall seeing that anywhere.

I loved it, even though I was sceptical about it beforehand.

Read up about it here.

I've been told it is very good despite my reservations about it being a transformation (oops a pun) of a kids cartoon. Enough for me to purchase....
person will endure the hot stick if I find it's trash :giggle:

12.97 in asda and that the single disc , the double 15 quid and then there is the one with the extra special one with the transformer you can build think that was over 15 quid at HMV
#15
I thought it was utterly awful and I have a pretty high threshold for trashy entertainment. This was just an incoherent mess whose appeal seems to be directly influence by how nostalgic you are for the toys and cartoon series! But my son liked it so I bought it today from Sainsbury's too!!!!!!!!!

The two disc is something daft like £17.97 in Sainsburys - 20% off that price would reduce it by about £3.60.

I completely agree. As a film, it is terrible, typical Michael Bay nonsense.
And that is coming from a die hard fan !!!
#18
I thought it was alright. Not as good as Die Hard 4.0 (like they were ever gonna release Die Hard 3.9!) because it didn't really have characters, and the action wasn't as good as it could have been. Entertaining enough though. Its a bit like 300, but with less blood and more giant talking robots - totally stupid, but switch your brain off and it works.
#19
I really enjoyed it. Picked up the 2 disc Region 3 one on from CD-WOW last month for £9
#20
I think whsmith are selling it for 9.99 saw an advert on tv earlier.
#21
I loved the film....you really need to watch it in cinemas to feel the full effects...or have a very good surround sound system to play it on...
#22
anyone know how much Sainsburys are charging for the HDDVD with the 20% off?

Thanks
#23
Alternatively, you could just wait until this ends up at £5 like every two disc super special limited platinum director's cut ultimate edition. ;)
#24
Yep got this earlier along with a few other things, priced at 12.97 but went through at 7.97 (got an extra 15% staff discount off to - all good!)

Cheapest anywhere - hope the film is good!
#25
this film is utter rubbish! if you like rubbish films, you will love this steaming turd of a movie! if i had watched this in the cinema i would have walked out. complete dross. the people who make films like this are taking you for a ride. steer clear. i feel sorry for people who lap up this bile. sort your heads out!!!
#26
£17.97 for the double disc edition so £14.37 after discount
#27

I was just in Sainsburys this afternoon. The 2 disc is 11.97 & 1 disc 9.97 before discount

the 2disc dvd is £13.99 on the internet on cdwow.com you can also get money off this from the voucher section such as 50p voucher plus a 50p/£1 link so brings it down to £12.99. Also transformers hd dvd is £17.99 from the internet from dvd.co.uk. just watched this film its great!! :D and my bf bought it from sainsburys at £7.97 or something, bargain!!

Looking at some of the posts on other forums it looks like some stores have the single disc marked up at £11.97 but should be £9.97 but whatever the sticker says it comes up at £7.97 at the till. Indeed the copy I bought had the £9.97 sticker over the top of an £11.97 sticker - I guess there has been a last minute change in pricing to the disc. But in the store I was in the 2 disc was definitely £17.9x. The 2 disc has a different slipcase cover to the single disc - it's white with Megatron's profile on one side - I didn't pick it up to look at the other side. If they've marked up the 2 disc incorrectly then that's a pretty good price... for a cac film ;-)

Same here. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I expected a big, flashy, empty film, full of explosions and huge robots, with some corny one-liners, and that's exactly what I got. Perfect.
#35
Great film!!!!!!!!!!!
#36
very good
#37
Wow - great price! I just bought mine in Woolies today at £9.99 as that was the best I could see.

Don't know why people are knocking the film - it's one of the few nowadays that has a solid story ... and the special effects really make it. I don't watch films more than once but I happily enjoyed this when my son watched it a second time...and third time. Too many movies rely on special effects only. Those who have bought it - enjoy it and disregard the ill-considered judgments of others. Great spot OP !

This is the one disc verison
#39
I be getting the HD-DVD as its only £17.99 from online website shops. From what I hear its been the biggest seller on HD-DVD at present

Transformers is one of them films you either hate it or love it, and you dont even need to be a fan of the original fan of the transformers. Those of us that like the film will agree the robots themselfs are crowning effect in the film. When I read they was planning a live action i feared it bomb like thunderbirds did, how wrong I was and glad I was.

I didnt want to film to finish I wanted to see more robots beating the c**** out of each other and city. Roll on Number 2 which has been given the green light, its going to have be something special to top this blockbuster.
