As it's a Paramount film I'm gonna guess it'll be HD-DVD, doesn't entirely bother me as I aint gonna buy either till the war is over :)

EDIT:
Infact yes because here's a news article saying Michael Bay was dissapointed it couldn't be on blu-ray

http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=415

Is blu-ray winning? I haven't really kept track.
#3
I thought there'd be a chance it'd be out on BluRay since Spielberg was involved in making of the movie.
That's bad news as I don't want to watch it on a noisy Xbox360

No one can tell who's winning. Both sides are boasting about their sales figures. No one will win IMO

Blu-ray is selling 4 to every 1 HD-DVD.

Anyway, I will have to get this on DVD if it aint coming out on Blu-Ray. Im not buying a HD DVD player just for one film.

I've stopped buying anything on HD-DVD just because the Xbox360 drive is too noisy compared to the PS3. I think many people who have both consoles and who don't have stand alone HD players will do the same eventually, unless Microsoft fixes the noise problem.

The elite is supposed to be much quieter & the new pro I think as well - might be too little too late though as blue ray seems to be striding into the lead.

I've not seen a film on either yet but did want HD to do better as I have a wii & 360 already so won't be buying a PS3.

worto.

edit - oh yeah & to be a bit more on-topic I might go for this at that price as I missed it at the cinema - thanks

You certainly do because I thought it was an awesome film!

Blimey didn't realise the ratio was that high, i remember when i read the specs of them both months ago blu-ray looked like the better format, and I have to admit to being a bit of a Sony fanboy

The ratio isn't that high. Even sonys marketing machine reports disc sales at 2:1 in blu-rays favour.

Play charge on dispatch (or processing which will be a day or so before dispatch).

whats that in our money? inc del?

Paramount/Dreamworks were producing films on both HD formats but after a recent large payout they are now HD-DVD exclusive. There was an update to the Michael Bay story that after he had been explained in more detail about the decision, he was fine with HD DVD...whatever the process, the end result is that it's HD DVD exclusive.

I like HD DVD simply because it's region free, no mucking about with changing firmware and specific dvd drives or software.

Yes, as far as I'm aware there are no compatibility issues yet with Blu-ray and if there is the PS3 is in a good position as it's fully upgradeable. The disc won't work in a normal DVD player though, it's not a combo disc as the HD DVD version is. It doesn't support Picture in Picture either although a future version may well do once BD Java is sorted.

It's £15.99 (delivery is free). It's in movietymes UK PS3 compatible section, they test all discs with their UK PS3 and they go in that section if they are region free.

p.s. Click on the union jack to the right and it will display in British pound.

Movietyme are good. If it's in their same day dispatch page (which is currently not working) then you will get the disc next day (they have a UK office, you will also not get custom charges even if the order is over £18)

On the left there are drop down menus, you want the category drop down menu (near the top), then just select "Blu-Ray UK PS3"

*b33r tries to envisige the sony Marketing machine and comes up with something that resembles the ever lasting gob-stopper maker from Charlie and the Chocolate factory*
#32
The ratio also includes the free blu-rays you get with PS3 bundles such as hitch and stealth.
#33
Am i reading this right? Its not out for another 3 months?

Can you not plug your XBOX360 HD DVD drive directly into your PC instead?

Won't look nice and it's too much hassle just to watch movies.

That's why I said 'Whatever the process...', initially he threatened he wouldn't direct Transformers 2 which I kind of hoped would be the case, sadly he's said he will now :(

Why wouldn't it look nice? HD DVDs looks superb running on a WUXGA screen.
