Trust me when I say this, this is way better than the rubbish that Michael Bay has created, Michael Bay has killed Transformers. This is so much better to watch and is value for money at the same time. You would be better off watching this, believe me.

Its only a massive hit because off all the hype.

I agree, this cartoon movie is awesome.

I loved this as a kid but whats great is i think i enjoy it even more now im older. Non stop transfomers action with a cool soundtrack.

I do like the new movie (Megan Fox YUM) but its only OK, it should have been Brilliant. I guess these sub-standard movies will keep coming till the Toys, Clothes, Games's etc stop selling.

Got this on DVD, anyone know if it's worth the step up to BD?

This animated movie is great BTW, and the Transformers rather than humans form the narrative. Don't get me wrong, I love Megan Fox, but the 1st Michael Bay film spends too much time on humans for a film called Transformers. Imagine if every episode had centred around Spike and Daniel, gah. Still going to see the 2nd mind ... tonight hopefully! :)

I've read a couple of reviews and the simple answer is probably ;)

Apparently the colours are much better than any DVD release, and there's no macroblocking, unlike the DVD releases (first scene where Unicron starts sucking up the planet).

Mines on order - although I already have it on DVD several times already (its not my fault - each version has subtle differences!).

This was the proper movie 1st. It even has "The Movie" as part of the title. So it must be the proper movie. It is a proper movie. Its about an hour and a half and awesome. You dont need CGI to be a proper movie you know.
#18
Not only do you get a much superior film to the 2007 CGI-fest (which I still like btw) you also get to listen to music by the likes of Stan Bush instead of Linkin Park. Nobody makes cheesy rock like that any more.

This may be true but I think the point is that these posts are misleading. Most people who see the title 'Transformers the Movie' will assume live action version because this was the recent box office hit. I'm pretty sure the 1986 Animated version (no matter how 'wonderful' it was) didn't do quite the same amount of business at the boxoffice and isn't at the front of most people's minds! Just put 'Animated 1986' in the title and see the temperature plunge!

Ohhh it's expired. Don't worry there will be another misleading post around in the very near future.

1986 movie was called "Transformers the Movie"
2007 movie was called "Transformers".

The Thread title said "Transformers the Movie". So I'd say its pretty clear.

If people cant realise the difference (or look at the picture and see a cartoon Optimus Prime that looks nothing like the CGI Prime) then they deserve to buy the wrong one.

I'm not that bothered if this gets shedloads of heat or not - its a good deal for those who know what they are buying.

Clear to you but obviously not to everyone. And definately not to all driveby heaters. And yes there is a chance that someone could make a quick purchase and end up with what they didn't expect. Just think it's more honest.

As for the 'heat or not'. Heat is there to gauge genuinely good deals. A recent post for the same movie was heading for hot and when 'Animated 1986' was added to the title it plunged very quickly. That's what it's about.

And that will be my last word on Transformers........The Movie.:p
