Here's a bit of nostalgia for you - Transformers the movie - only £2.99 including delivery from HMV! I used to love this show when I was a little one, but als my family was too poor to buy me the toys. I had to play with cardboard boxes instead. Use the attached 10% off voucher to get a bit off the price making it £2.69 delivered

Don't forget quidco.com for a bit of extra cashback!

Details: The classic big screen outing from the massively popular 80s toys finally gets welcome re-issue and if you haven't seen it then its well worth checking out. Set in the year 2005 the good Autobots are battling the evil Decepticons, who have been helped by an evil force called Unicorn, a evil travelling planet consuming demon. Unicorn has made the Decepticons stronger than they ever were and in return expects them to destroy the Autobots. A flop at the time of its release the film now stands up very well even to those people who were never fans of the toys. The story is very strong and for a kids film features lots of violence and even goes on to show its consequences. Also the cast doing the voices is amazing featuring Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Casey Kasem and Orson Wells (who always said he would take any acting job if it gave him money to direct his films his way).

Cant wait for the new movie in 2007, looks utterly fantastic. Good find mate, Rep added.

The region 2 version of Transformers: The Movie is in a horrendous 4:3 aspect ratio and only sports 2.0 Dolby sound. The transfer also looks like it was done in someones shed! By comparison the most recent episode boxsets are divine.

The current region 1 release of the movie is far superior and there is even a brand new definitive version in the works - Except that won't cost £2.69 delivered :)

I remember when my dad took me to the cinema to watch it. Even he enjoyed it :)

I bought the soundtrack whilst out in the States last year, it's brilliant.

this version is terrible, and there is a version that is supposed to be better for £5.99 at hmv, minus any discount codes:

I've not seen this version though, just going from word of mouth.

also, the version I linked is PG, therefore probably include the S word, which was horrifically cut from the video version.

as Mbeeching mentioned, there is a definitive version coming which sounds like it'll even trump the one i linked.

You got the touch, dun dun dun dun, YOU GOT THE POWER!!!! YEAH!!!

There are two versions currently available and another on the way in November.

This is the one that has been ripped directly from the same source as the tape and still has the playback errors as the tape.

I paid £1.99 for this one and I still feel like I got ripped off.

I got my copy free with Transformers the Game from...Game.
It's rated U, so it's the cheapest most cut and un-improved version available - Direct Tape to DVD transfer.

I would avoid this if you don't want your childhood dreams destroyed.

My mum fell asleep while watching it at the cinema with me :'(

I was just about to sell this on ebay - but then thought "no dammit!"

Isnt it strange that such a ridiculous (lets face it) movie has a voiceover by the great Orson Welles?

There are so many more ridiculous things in the world, who's standards are we judging it by.

This is the best animated feature ever made. I even prefer it to Akira.

Voice artists such as Orson Welles, Leonard Nimoy and Eric Idle make this the great movie it is.

For fear of being assassinated in my sleep - I take it all back - Transformers The Movie is quite possibly the most spectacular and important motion picture there is.

Yeah me too I was gutted. In Action Force/Gi Joe the movie Duke was meant to die but they scrapped it due to the outcry at the death of Optimus Prime.

I've still got all my Transformers since when I was a kid (mostly with the original boxes)....and I'm shortly going to have to sell them all. Sob sob...

I've got original first issues of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Scorponok, Metroplex...etc ...think I'm going to have to go home and watch the movie for the 2000th time when I get back home from work tonight now after reading this thread!!!!
