#12
Cheapest online is £3.99 at HMV, Quidco would make it £3.59 - an extra 60p if you ain't got an Asda nearby!
#13
How much does the remastered version differ?
#14

For all of those curious, I have the Region 1 DVD. If this is the same (I believe it is), the colours are much brighter and it is presented in cropped widescreen (The film was shot in Pan & Scan, not Widescreen). Oddly not really worth the money - the 2nd disc has some oddly interesting features though.

Hope that 'elps :)

Films can't be shot in pan and scan, but then can obviously be shot in the 4:3 ratio. Pan and scan is the process of panning and scanning a widescreen shot movie to fit into 4:3 TV ratio. It might seem pedantic, but I'd much rather watch a film designed for 4:3 rather than a pan and scan movie where you know you are losing bits on the edge. With animations in particular, watching a 4:3 cropped into false widescreen seems daft - you are probably losing a third of the artwork from the top and bottom.

Anyway enough of all that - roll on Orson Welle's greatest film...

Was £5 in the Cambridge store

Just watched a bit upscaled to 720p.

They've done a very good job cleaning it up.

Its lovely and shiney and the sound is much improved too. Ive only skipped through bits but im already concerned. At around 19:20 into the film there is a sound dip when Optimus Prime is shooting at the Decepticons, the music stays at the same level but the FX drop to very quiet, I hope to God there isnt more!

Eric Idle, Leonard Nimoy and Orson Welles in the same film! Who would have thought. Got mine from HMV for £3.59 etc and watched it today. Its certainly action packed!!! There aren't many quiet moments thats for sure. Makes me want to buy the series now. Is the series better than the movie?

The movie is much darker, and accompanied by cheesy heavy metal soundtrack. Its incredibly cool and still rock's 20 years on. The TV series tended to be very moral based, giving a discreet life lessons within the episodes. They very rarely managed to land shots on each other and no-one ever died (as a rule). Its probably the greatest TV Show ever though, let alone, kids TV show/cartoon etc. and well worth the bargain prices you can pick all 4 seasons up for. Warning though, Season 3 became a fairly low budget animation towards the end and the plots were wearing thin. Season 4 served only as an introduction for a new toy range (as far as i can remember).

You guys can feel free to correct anything i may have remembered wrong
