I think this is a mis-price as the normal version is £15 so i guess they got the prices the wrong way round, hopefully they'll honour it.

A feature film based around the popular cartoon characters. A planet that devours anything in its path is heading for Cybertron, the planet where two factions of transforming robots have been fighting a civil war for millions of years. This is a battle between good (the Autobots) and evil (the Decepticon Transformers) but the planet now heading for Cybertron is a new evil.

I think this is the one disc special edition and not the Ultimate 2 Disc Tin Edition which is worth a lot more.

Gotta be better than the one I got for a fiver that appears to be a digitally remastered VHS rip with dodgy tape jumps included.

I think this about the money for this movie. I have it on DVD and UMD and paid about the £5 mark.

Still easily the best anime I have and will ever see.

Maybe it's got something to do with the forthcoming release of Michael Bay's adaptation? ;-)
Here's the official website.

Make sure you check the trailers, they are absolutely amazing... Blockbuster ahead, in my opinion! This one won't be just for animé fans and grown-up kids like me, it should really appeal to almost everyone!

oooh, its finally out!

this is the new one which is out this june, theres two types it seem, this the simple version, (so cheaper)

as tempting as it is, im goings for the bigger tin case ultimate edition:

http://www.sendit.com/video/item/7001000135048

unless anyone knows of anywhere to source that for cheaper than £14.89

(im looking so will post if i find)

Update:

Seems to be the same price everywhere, £15, although at HMV and play you get exclusive unique stuff:

hmv, a exclusive sleeve
play exclusive cards

guessing it comes down to quidco

Surely joint best anime with the SF2 anime, of course!

Word of warning regarding play and their postcards. I bought the cartoon set which was advertised with postcards but it never had them, Play informed me I had to return the whole set. A few weeks later after returning my original set I got my new set and sure enough no postcards, worst thing about the new set was that it was also battered and looked like some kind of returned item.

They also only gave me a partial refund on my postage which was about pound off.

I have fond memories as a child going to the local video store and renting this out pretty much every week (Dad, why didnt you just buy it!!!). The soundtrack is pure 80's cheese rock, love it, love it, love it!

Will probably hold out for the tin to come down in price, does anyone know if this will be proper 'limited edition' like when Jaws special box came out - was so annoyed when that sold out.

Picked this up for £2 in Woolies a couple of weeks back, but it was the odler release, probably the one Crackerjack referred to (but I haven't watched it yet).

For all you multi-regioned types the special edition ahs been out in the States for a while.

Music by Vince DiCola who also did most of the Rocky 4 tunes. Heavy Metal suits Transformers. Pity he is not doing the music for the upcoming movie.

I have this version and it's not identical - content may or may not be the same but it doesn't come in a tin case. Has a cool hologram on the front cover though!

Paid just under £10 for mine from CD Wow..

There are 2 versions of the TF movie a U and a PG!

The U has 1 scene edited where one of the autobots says something rude!
(I cant remember exactly where!)

iirc , it was spike (the human) who said the certain word, and it was when unicron was on a munching spree on a moonbase or something.
