Get a lock pick gun.....much easier & no skill required ;-) Or with a padlock just use a set of bolt cutters

It has to be said these are actually sold to train locksmiths.......

I don't think burglars actually pick locks to break in....too time consuming & many locks like those on my house are pick, snap & bump proof...that is why the preferred tool of the common crook is a simple brick through a window !!

depends on what your stealing, last job I did was a piece of cake, disabled alarm, picked lock on front door, used super glue and tape to get finger print for the safe and then even bigger safe had to use liquid nitrogen to expand the old metal and it came off its hinges, all that and it was some old motorcycle suit (I thought) 8)

Similar sets on Amazon with prime delivery for about £10 so not really worth the 7 to 20 day wait and the lack of Amazon support for a about quid.

i don't know which area you live in. I seriously cannot see west Yorkshire police getting in touch with every retailer of these. easier to hang about down the local pawn shop or drug dealers. imagine them checking receipts for bolt cutters or slide hammers every time a car or shed was done.

You did well to defeat the laws of physics as the cooling of the liquid nitrogen would have contracted rather than expanded the metal.......bloody amateur ;-)

Cops are yet to visit me, got 2 sets via Amazon. These have been available for years, quite interesting to play with. Very popular with computer programmers for some reason.

yes obviously to distract the dog while your picking the lock. (well spotted)

Will use this to pick my neighbours padlock on his garden gate every few nights from now on. Not to steal anything, just to make him think he is going senile and forgetting to padlock it. :)

Win!

If the cops catch you with this out and about you could have a serious problem!

These are good for the money, the cheaper ones are a waste of money. The padlock is easy but a good starting point.

You have way too much faith in the Police, lucky if you get a visit and a crime number after a break-in.

They are far more interested in catching the burglar speeding.

Yep, "going equipped" is the offence I believe. All depends on the circumstances of what it looks like you're up to and your reasoning. Had this hobby for a few years now, someone in the family does it professionally. Always cringe when these deals come up.

In the 3 odd times I've been stopped not once have I been searched. If you wear good clothes you can rob anywhere.
