Won't let me use the code on London hotels I've tried within the date range. It said because of availability it was excluded at those hotels. Had to pay full price sadly. Cost me almost £100 for a two night stay in zone 6.. There were no saver rates left though but it should apply to all technically I think.

Unfortunately, certain dates at this hotel are excluded from the offer due to high demand. Please accept our apologies but the date you have selected falls into that category. Please try another date or hotel for your stay.

You will be allowed 2 further attempts to enter a correct code, after which this booking session will not accept a discount code.

That's in October after the 13th. It's very frustrating as the hotels I've tried to book at are listed as participating in the offer.

In the terms and conditions it says 'your stay cannot commence on a Sunday'. Does that mean I cant do a room for Sunday 5th and Monday 6th June? when trying to apply the code it allows you to do this :-S
Just booked mine and saved £59, thanks for the heads up. :D

Don't forget - Offer runs out tomorrow, you have to book by the 19th May
So do you have to book 2 nights to get the discount, or can you just book one night and use code to get it free??
If you wanted a Fri, Sat, Sun stay (3 nights) would you have to book the Friday separate and what would the check in situation be? :D

The last 2 Travelodge's we stayed in were dirty with outdated bathrooms.
Blood on the undersheet / toilet dirty & bathroom not cleaned properly in a very long time.
Bedside lamps looked as if they had never been cleaned, same went for the kettle.
This was all at the one in view of the Dartford crossing (Kent side) and the one on the A2/M2 at Chatam was not a lot better, both times "some" money was refunded but never again for us.
Also if you have a complain trying to get hold of anyone online / phone is like getting blood out of a stone.
Those ones are rough because they are mostly occupied by contractors who share one room between 5 or 6.

No they are rough (read Dirty) as the staff are given no time to properly clean the rooms !

My experience is that their hotels vary wildly in standard - some are probably a step down from spending the night in your car instead; others, usually the newer ones or ones that have had recent refurbs are ok and up to the same level as Premier Inns.

I suppose if your car had a shower, bath, wash basin and toilet then you might have a point.

If staying in a budget hotel then you need the bed to be clean and Travelodge usually get that right,
A good functioning bathroom, which again they do well enough, and quiet - which usually depends on how considerate other guests are, and can be just as bad in a posh hotel as anywhere else.

Has anyone had any problems with these codes. I have just tried the BOOKJAN3 & BOOKJAN4 codes for a booking for London on 6 Jan and 7th Jan. It came up with message "We're sorry, but the code BOOKJAN4 you have entered is not valid for this booking. This may be because the dates, hotel or room rates selected are incorrect, or the code has expired. Please check the code terms and conditions and then try again."

Says the same for me - 4 night booking Carlisle from 3 Jan

Glad I saw this as the booking I had has now been cancelled and rebooked with the discount - saved me £19. OK the first was flexible so could cancel & now can't, but £19 is better in my pocket than theirs.

The prices for January were increased before they introduced this "discount".
Do you mean they weren't as low as buying three months in advanced?
Yes. I wanted to book a London hotel for January, and noticed the prices jumped. I searched through Trivago, and booked the Waterloo Travelodge via a third party website.
But early booking is often cheaper. This gives a discount on rooms *not* booked so far in advance.
I'm just letting you know that they put their prices up prior to this offer. I'm not talking about the gradual rise that happens as rooms get booked. It's up to you whether you're happy with the deal they're offering.

So annoyed they expired this early. I called up to book the other day after the website was down and the person I spoke to said don't worry as long as you book before midnight tonight it will be fine, now it's expired and I've missed out. Will call tomorrow to complain.
I didn't get booked over the weekend and I guessed the web development team would curtail things when they got back to work on Monday and read this thread. You have to take advantage of offers asap. But thanks OP and have a nice stay the people who got booked.

You get what you pay for. For those moaning about a £35 room in Central London, it is what you get!!! So this is a HOT deal.
True.........but if you do happen to take a bedbug or two home with you it's going to cost you maybe 50 times that to fumigate the house and get rid of them. Not at all nice.
Little tip. On arrival, place bags, suitcases etc in the bath. Pull back duvet etc and check for any sign of insects, or blood, on the sheets. If all seems clear, bring the cases into the room.
What an exaggeration. You're not sleeping rough on a mattress in a subway, you'll get a basic standard of hygiene and cleanliness at any travel lodge.
If only. Read this:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travelnews/9695551/Woman-covered-in-bedbug-bites-after-night-at-London-Travelodge.html
To be fair, though, they once upgraded me to a different 'hotel' after I'd pointed out the bed bug problem at the one I'd originally booked.
sayitasitis
I find my stays there have been excellent, also Kings Cross a few years back, could not fault. It is strange the way people blame their standards but never question their own ! why some people leave a hotel room in a mess is beyond me, trashing and breaking fittings, are their own homes in this state.

I have worked in a Travelodge and currently work in a Premier Inn, both as a Housekeeper and I agree with this; The state guests leave the rooms in sometimes makes me wonder if they are indeed humans, or animals on a farm...

agreed - sorry I was referring to the value. but with any room for any price, hygiene has to be the number one priority and I expect it to be clean. if it isn't then even if it's free, it's not worth it.

We stayed at the Birmingham Sheldon Travelodge last Friday because we had an early flight on the Saturday morning. £26 for a family room for 4. Recently refurbished excellent service and lovely comfy bed. I was very happy with the stay and would book again if flying early from Birmingham airport, it was also very convenient for the Airparks airport parking.
Stayed at the waterloo hotel for my birthday staff were fantastic friend organised for them to decorate the room with banners and things hanging from the ceiling they couldn't do enough, even put bottle of wine in the room will be definitely going back there.

Used to love Travelodge - cheap and (usually) cheerful. Stayed there a lot, frequently in London (where they vary a LOT).
But they've got tattier and tattier as the finances got worse and worse, and some of them really are rock bottom now. A shame, because they used to be a real bargain, but Holiday Inn Express and Premier Inns now represent a lot better value unless you're really desperate.
What about the "refurbished" ones ? Only ask as i was looking to book at one near thruxton
Stayed in a refurb one the other week in Nottingham, was lovely. So some are still nice, just seems a little hit or miss.
Which Nottingham one was it? I stay there from time to time but wrote off the Travelodges on past experience.

Stayed here many times as always the cheapest. It is a typical Travelodge experience which is fine for us. Did find a fantastic pub last time just up the road behind the church as the hotel bar is soulless.
Stayed here before an early flight and it is a dive. I regularly stay at Travelodge's and this is the worst I've been to.

Having said that, it was a bed to sleep in for £20 a 2 minute taxi ride from the airport! I would stay again as it serves a purpose, just don't expect nice decor or decent food from the bar!
I stayed at Crawley Travelodge during the week before Xmas and was impressed at the very wide range of restaurants on the high street very close to the hotel. Got the same £28 rate.
That is a great price with it being so close to an airport. Heat added :)

These hotel deals need some proper search capacities.
I will only go to the brand new travelodges. These are ok even though they could be in the process of being built or finalised. The one in Wadebridge was quite good!
Very rare I can find a room in Liverpool city centre for cheap but have got one for end of March @ £29.00; cheers!
The rooms are ok but I would much rather pay another £6 for a premier inn
