Hot if you live in Newcastle, otherwise too much of a pain to get to the departure point :0(

By the time you pay for add on's ie food on the boat transfer fees etc it works out quite expensive. Yes it looks good at the start but by the time you get to the end of your booking you could get a week in the sun cheaper. I am voting it cold I'm affraid.

I would make sure you check DSDF website first as i got this deal in their August sale was £55 for the 2 night or £69 for the 3 night.

The food is extremely expensive on the boat and £7.10 yes £7.10 for a glass of wine is way over the top. We ended up just going to the onboard duty free shop and stocking up in there.

Its a very long trip and if like us you getboard you maybe spending a lot on the boat, we will just take the hours flight next time it works out cheaper when you factor in the boats £25-£35 main meals.

Sweet!! whats the local price for a girl at night nowadays?

You can do the boat trip cheaply. Just don't buy the expensive food, take a couple of sandwiches with you.

Much more fun on the boat, the cheesy entertainment is pretty funny.

Why are people voting this cold because the food is expensive in the restaurants?

It's a CHOICE, you don't have to go all out and spend £100 on a meal. If you want to do it cheaply you can with this deal.

YES everyone, NEVER GO TO ROME. Its very very EXPENSIVE. I paid £4 for a can of coke EVERYWHERE i went. Its a rip off city. Daylight robbery. Apart from that the weather was fantastic and the architecture was wonderful. But the prices were ridiculous. Cold. Yes GREAT logic. Judge the deal based on factors external to the deal and matters of choice. Whats wrong with u people.

The point is that on the boat, you are restricted to where you can eat, etc. The onboard restaurants on these cruises are extortionate to supplement the cheap ticket costs, and if you want to eat your packed lunch and take a flask, that's fine... but if you are relying on the onboard catering, you're probably better off searching out a cheap flight, getting there faster and spending some extra in the city.

Especially if you're travelling a distance to get to Newcastle!

Voted cold because of people getting shirty about people voting cold.

Touchy aren't we?

How much hash can each adult bring back on the ship, is it still 2kg per adult? :)
#12
Have a big late lunch and you won't need to eat on the boat. Simple.

went on this trip a few years past, had the buffet dinner and the wife got a maggot in her rice, put us off travelling with them ever again.

They did then offer us a better dining choice (free) and free bevvy for the rest of the trip which we took advantage of.
#14
where did u buy the maggot from?

The quoted price includes the transfer fee. Also as others have said you dont have to buy the onboard meals - loads of people dont bother.

Sorry guys. I personally thought it was a good deal.

£79 all in, APART from your food doesnt seem to bad to me. I have always personally enjoyed the boat trip, but maybe it was because i was with a good group of mates and we had a laugh.

They do say bout 15% off the food, if you really have to eat onboard.

€50 still.

Good deal if you live in or near Newcastle.
#20
As already mentioned food is way to expensive when we looked at a deal it ended up being about £300 dearer ryan air & hotel a lot better deal & you're not stuck on a ferry for 4 night's
#21
Yeah your right, but who wants to spend 19 hours in a cabin thats 4x4 m2?

The entertainment was awful and the guy on the mic had a very bad attitude and resulted in getting geers from the people on board. We ended up losing 2 hours of the very short stay.

I would much rather pay the extra £10 for the flight. It gets you double the time in Amsterdam also.

I am guessing because the trip was so rough resulting in us losing 2 hours in Amsterdam, this has marred my opinion and i would never do it again.

Very cold for me
