I need a cheapie mountain bike for general riding around and a few paths, nothing too major. Apollo got a rough ride, so what about this?

The Trax TXC.1 is a tough steel mountain bike with front suspension, Shimano 18 speed gearing and steel V-brakes

Errm, its free delivery as far as I can make out! Why do you need a store nearby?

i would go for the reebok one with the aluminium frame , i got a reebok one off amazon and never had a problem with it, and im out on the roads twice a week with mine and it does the job perfect.

if you don't wont to build it yourself, then the Reebok from halfords should be your first call.

thanks i do appreciate the help and nice to get helpful comments on hkud for once. I am going to go and do a good deed for someone else now. ps yes wanted a local retailer in case of problems and although i know i could send back easier if the shop is down the road. could be the reebok for me following that recommendtion. As i am not about to cross the alps in it just arts of the south west coast path.

Again, someone posted earlier that Halfords are about to have a bike sale, and that one ought to wait. The post wasn't a deal, so it disappeared.
