It seems to be a good bike. gets good reviews. Its almost 60 quid more expensive at other sites like EVANS (they will price match it BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY CODES ).Any experience with this bike. Please let me know as I am planning to buy one.
If you are upgrading or simply looking for a good allrounder this one is well worth a look. A heavier duty frameset than the classic Trek 7 series hybrids makes it ideal for those wanting a solid workhorse that can cope with the daily commute as well as the big summer biking adventure!

It's not really that great to be honest for that money.

Try this - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3321786.htm

Wow, it has to be a bad deal if Argos is better!

Isn't Muddy Fox a somewhat discredited brand these days - 'not what they used to be', etc? Only one frame size too (21"), which may not suit everyone. Looks like fabulous value though.

For what it's worth I'd rate J E James highly as a retailer. Very helpful on the 'phone (once you get through). Bought an item in store which proved faulty and they refunded cost plus shipping without any argument. The stores aren't the smartest places but the people are so helpful, which counts for much more. Check they have what you want in store before a visit though.

While we're on bikes - can anyone offer advice on 'Slime' anti-puncture stuff (actually Wilko's equivalent for only £3.99 vs £8.99). Got some to put in new bikes but just wondering if others have found it effective and/or is there a downside before I instal it?

And do the aerosol tyre repair/inflate things work? Are they a real fix or just a get you home?

Believe it or not but that Argos one is a right cracker price wise!

Its basically a flatbarred and commuter converted version of this bike. Same spec and excellent reviews at £399! At the price Argos is selling at, its a complete no brainer!

Not a big fan of Slime inner tubes, they felt really weird.

FOr puncture resistant, I would highly highly recommend these tyres - http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s142p31

Bomb proof and good roll!

Thanks. Unfortunately they don't offer 20" (Dahon folders) and I'm not keen to junk brand new tyres if there's an alternative. Are you saying you can feel it in the tyres when riding? I was concerned that it could upset balance but similar is put in car and motorbike tyres too.

No I'm not practising in being a complete moron...I was trying to point out that your attack on the OP was unjustified and not what this site is about.
