No Idea of KW output so I'd be very wary probably only 7.5KW so you'll only get a warm shower which incidently is all your getting off me...Warm.

Looks like a Triton Amber 2 (or possibly 3) from the Picture atleast!
Also found here:

Looks like a 8.5kw, so a good price.
#3
hope it works better than the triton shower i had always blowing pressure relief valve
#4
IMO, you need 9.5KW for a shower. Below that it's just dribble.
#5
Good price for a shower tho

Certainly doesn't look like the "III" model, so as you say most likely an Amber II, which is widely available for just under 70 quid, so I would say this qualifies as a good price.

If anyone is planning a DIY replacement of an old shower, remember, it is generally not be LEGAL to do this...(Bathrooms & Kitchens have special rules) :whistling:

In any case, make sure the existing cable is up to the job - an old 7Kw unit may not have been provided with a cable adequate for the extra 1Kw, ir the right fusing/circuit breaker!

I can confirm this is an 8.5kw,shower having orderd one and returned it thinking maybe it was a power shower. Tescos site discription of it is very poor and customer services had no futher info on it .

Thats what google is for ;)

You can see it's an electric shower though, they don't come in 'power' form...do they?

The Aquatronis 2+ from Wickes (also made by Tritronic) may be a better buy (9.5KW) :
http://www.wickes.co.uk/Electric-Showers/Aquatronic-2-Plus-95kW/invt/207297

I got one fitted only last week , after having endured a cheap crappu Gainsborough 8.5Kw from B&Q last year for a tad over 30 quid.

Thing is, who actually makes it and can you get the bits easily if it needs them? At least Triton stuff is easy to fix for the simple reason its all very available (a lot easier than having to reroute stuff to fit a new one of different design!)

I have an 8.5Kw Triton shower,(as much as the circuit will support without rewiring and also replacing the circuit breaker) no problem of flow even in the coldest weather, so your Gainsborough must be a real bad'n! I can certainly remember how pathetic a 7Kw unit was in a previous house, and even the 8.5Kw one is not the same as a proper tank fed system, or a power shower, but that extra 1.5Kw makes a LOT of difference when the water coming in is as cold as it has been over the last week!

I have a Triton power shower that's very similar looking to this, I wondered too, it's not obvious it isn't a power shower and the description tells you nothing.
