The Tritton AX Pro and AX 720 are two completely different headsets. The AX Pro features "true" Dolby 5.1 whilst the 720's is simulated.

Different headset.
- 720's simulate surround sound.
- AX Pro's have true 5.1 surround sound.
Regardless of that, I've never used either headset so can't comment on how they compare to other headsets; I simply posted them because I saw them cheaper there :)

Personally I'd probably choose the Turtle Beach P11's (I'm currently using) or PX21's + Turtle Beach DSS(2) over the Tritton 720's anyway, and it'd work out slightly cheaper too.

I love them...I've never used the equivalent Turtlebeach headsets but I bought these based on most reviews stating they are the best for the money.
I have only tried the Trittons and not the Turtlebeachs, reviews seem to switch between which one is better but having tried Trittons at a friend's house and being impressed I gave them a go. Unfortunately the mic was basically completely unusable (common problem at the time, not sure if it still is) which was no good for me as the mic was one of the main reasons I was wanting to use those headphones over my standard ones which didn't allow a mic.

Unfortunately not. The headphones require mains power and utilize an optical in/out connection. They are quite cable heavy (once you factor in the breakout box) but I'm informed that they offer one of the best sound qualities available at this price point. I own a pair and am very satisfied. However, as they are my first pair of 5.1 headphones I don't have the basis on which to make a comparison to other equivalent products.
