Voted Hot as a good deal, but remember people that Lidl are very store specific on items so don't expect every store to have them

do people trust these cheap sort of products?

Yeh, could end pretty nastily. No worries if just changing a wheel though.

You should never trust any jack.

Use it to get the car in the air, then use axle stands or similar.

presumably it'd have to comply to the usual standards etc. Not that that'd be much help with a car on your head ... :-D

Stick some bricks under it, after you've jacked it up.

(only joking..use axle stands)

Here's another money saver for all you HUKDers... Trolley Jacking!

hang around the trolley bay until unsuspecting old lady/invalid/pregnant woman arrives, wait till they put their pound in the trolley lock, and whip the trolley away!! "Trolley Jack" i'd shout.... :whistling:

Lightweight, you're supposed to jack it after they've done the shopping

Not on the lidl website - (info from a friend)

This might be useful if I can find one. Already got a decent trolley jack but found out today one with a **** lift height (like this one will be) would be good for jacking under the rear suspension struts :)

Definately, it doesn't matter how strong the jack is.

Ditto, definitely a regional deal :x

Rubbish

Went at 9.30am and said all of the stock was gone. The person i asked spoke to his collague regarding the jack and i heard his collague say he kept one for himself:x:x:x

Its meant to be for customers, not staff:x

No sale at all in my store this weekend. They've done them occasionally and have a large dedicate non-food section, same size as the rest of the store, but no sales planned in the near future they said. I wanted an expresso maker for £15.
#31
just rang lidl customer services they say they are on sale @£2.49 on monday should be available in all stores but in limited supplies first come first serves
#32
Theres a sale on on in local store - posters all over the place advertising up to 75% off non-food items. It's seems to be a clearance of past deals.

But no jacks available. In fact I was struggling to see anything reduced by as much as 75% (but didn't look at the real tat with no boxes, labels, etc just thown into a crate.)

Has anyone managed to secure one of these jacks yet @ £2.49?
#33
Found stacks of the jacks but priced up at 12.99 and no sign of special weekend only discounts. Would feel an idiot asking if they are 2.49 so won't bother :-)
#34
I see the sign and price markd £2.49 for these in ipswich store but none left this morning all gone, they had other bits but nothing worth having all looked rubbish.

It must be the staff who took the trolley jacks:x (see my earlier post page 2)I think i will have to write a letter of complaint

Ditto at Tonbridge 9.30am Saturday, except that the circular saw and screwdriver (both then available) are probably OK; Lidl and Aldi tools usually reasonable quality.
#37
I thought the 20m extention lead on reel with 3G socket looked good at just £7.49 (half price)

My local store also had 6 packs of mains haologen lights for just £3.49 - again half price. Not sure if that was a good deal or not, but someone obviously did as they were coming out with a whole trolley load of them - expect to see them on a well known internet auction site soon.
#38
These are still priced up at 12.99 or 12.99 minus the vat where still available. Not bothered to ask them to check the price on the till as I doubt it would be 2.49.
