The Cold War is in full swing and through means devious and dubious you have seized power of the Caribbean island of Tropico, where you now rule as the all powerful "El Presidente". No matter whether you turn Tropico into a vacation paradise or a modern industrial nation, you will always have to defend your actions before your people! Wander through Tropico and intimidate political opponents, hold populist speeches or just enjoy your country's own Caribbean flair. History takes its course with events such as the Cuba crisis, papal visits and other actual decisive historical events. The only question is whether or not you can play a role in that history!

Edit: the price has gone up to £11.93

* Comprehensive campaign with 15 different missions
* A variety of business sectors: Tourism, petroleum, mining, agriculture, etc.
* A timeline editor allows you to create your own fictive historical events or enter real ones
* Political speeches, edicts and "other" means of influence
* A wide range of editing and modification functions
* Mission generator for random map creation
* A variety of online-functions such as high scores or visiting islands belonging to other players

Love this game, not sure I could play it on a controller though. KB + mouse all the way for me!

Just be aware there is a bug in the main sandbox part of the game which screws up save games - and it was never patched. Something to consider even at this cheap price.

Have the PC version but still trying to allocate time to play it.
Not many games like it on the 360 so maybe worth a purchase if you fancy a break from playing FPS.

i'll echo what everyone else is saying - Tropico 3 is a good game - on PC. Not too sure how well ity'll translate to a console, but if it's a fathful port of the PC version it should be well worth this price.

Awsome game, even on the 360, it uses very simple section and rotation methods make make this game flow.... 1st class title - a must for RTS fans.

Had this on the PC and then got it for the 360. My 12 year old and 9 year old boys love it. They play it for hours when they want a break from shooting things in other games. Actually quite educational for the 9 year old who has learned a whole new vocabulary from some of the things in the game. Its not a jump right in game but if a younger one sees an older one playing it, they soon want to create their own island. Great fun and not to challenging and the game isn't ruined by the need to micromanage too much as your island gets more complex. Best god sim I have found on the Xbox. The controls are really good. I never could imagine this without a mouse but it actually works better in some ways. At this price its well worth a try. Not had any problems with the saved game bug but we have mostly used it in sandbox mode.
