Tru Calling's trump cards are its intriguing paranormal premise and the lead performance by the underrated Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), both of which have earned it a small but loyal audience; both of these virtues are preserved in this eight-disc set that includes not only every single episode but a surprising amount of supplemental features. Dushku plays Tru Davies, a young morgue attendant who discovers, much to her dismay, that she can hear the voices of the dead, as well as reverse their fates; with the help of her brother (Shawn Reaves) and boss (Zack Galifianakis), Tru relives the last day of these people's lives in order to prevent their untimely deaths. Episodic highlights include "Valentine," which pits Tru against a serial killer; "Closure," in which a young war hero attempts to reunite with his girlfriend after his death; "Murder in the Morgue," which revolves around the killing of a bride on her wedding day; and "Daddy's Girl," which reveals some disturbing news regarding Tru's past and introduces Jason Priestley as the sinister-seeming Jack Harper, a man with powers similar to hers, but with very different intentions regarding the recently deceased. The eight-disc set includes all the episodes from both series, several featuring commentary by cast and crew; deleted scenes and a music video for Full Blown Rose's theme song, "Can Somebody Help Me," round out the extras. -- Paul Gaita

Synopsis
Eliza Dukshu (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL) stars as Tru Davies in this hip thriller of a drama that is part mystery and part night time soap opera. When her coveted medical internship doesn't pan out, Tru reluctantly takes a job on the night shift at the morgue. Her first night there, she hears a recent murder victim calling for help but dismisses it, doubting herself and the veracity of her perceptions. But when she wakes up the next day, she finds that she's stuck in the day before, and endeavours to prevent the murder that only she knows is going to occur. Thus begins her realisation of her gift and calling, and Tru embarks on her mission to use her ability to go back in time to save lives and prevent tragedy. Meanwhile, her family is having troubles of their own, as her wealthy and successful older sister (Jessica Collins) battles drug addiction, and her handsome but hapless younger brother (Shawn Reaves) is constantly in and out of trouble. Tru finds herself often coming to their aid as well.

It was £14 each a few weeks ago. Likely to be less now, and a drop further when everyone else mass buys these for Blockbusters!

It is NOT worth buying them if you just want to trade them, as Blockbuster now say you can only trade 1x each title (I got them to check this with head office today)
When I tried to trade in 2 x Becoming Jane on Blu ray (which wasn't cheap, it's just Asda sent me two copies by mistake, so I thought I would watch one and then trade them both in.

First they said they didn't have a price on their computer system, so had to ring up head office (as I got a feeling the lady serving it, wanted to buy the dvd herself - she made an effort to ring head office, when she couldn't see a price on the computer) and then another guy behind the counter said you can only trade 1 of each title (no exemptions, not even if it is a new release, that they don't have any of for sale yet) and i got him to ring up the head office and they said.

Each member can only trade in 1 x each title, and if I store has a few of those already, they can refuse even to accept that one.

So it you want to buy them purely to trade in, it isn't worth it. (I wasn't that bothered they only accepted 1x Becoming Jane Blu ray as the trade in price was peanuts!!!!!! But hay it was free

I guess it at no point occured to you that the right thing to do would be to advise them of their mistake and offer to return it?

Actually I did email them, as I was worried I would be billed twice for it and asked for a stamp addressed envelope and they emailed me back 5 days later told me to keep it (I have proof of this email, incase anyone doesn't believe me)

I am honest, as I believe strongly in "what comes around, goes around, but 10 times ****** harder !!!!"
