Did anyone stick with this? Did it turn out to be any good? I watched the first three, but it was sooooo boooooring. Wasn't suspenseful or intriguing at all, and I didn't care about any of the characters. Does it improve?

I suppose everyone's going to have their own/differing opinions but I found it to be fantastic - just gets better and better. Not for everyone, as it has disturbing themes and isn't exactly easy to watch. Story and acting is top class imo, and that opening theme...so good and so fitting.
Performances were top notch, especially McConaughey's role - unforgettable.

No it was only hard to watch because of how slow it moved, I normally like a slow building, gripping thriller, but this bored me to tears, guess it just wasn't for me.

No probs, we don't all have the same tastes. Each to their own :)

One of the best shows ever made (yes, even the ending). IMO. Great price for those that still insist on throwing their money away on DVD.

Sky Atlantic are in the process of repeating it - in fact, the last episode is tonight.

Really enjoyed it so far.

Why is it "throwing money away" any more than paying for the series in any other format?

If you buy this DVD, watch it, and then sell it on (and you'd probably get at least as much as £9.99 for it at the moment, as it's very new), then you've essentially watched the series for nothing.

Yes, like Jas10 says, it just gets better and better - the slow start with its character development really pays off as the story continues.

And if you had only stuck with it for one more episode, you would have seen one of the most frantic, tense and exciting (not to mention technically brilliant) sequences that has ever been made for TV.

I agree with you Dave there's nothing wrong with buying Dvd's I still do and don't intend to stop until i'm forced to by the manufacturers. Not everybody wants the to have films via Blu Ray,streaming/downloading etc i 'd rather have a physical copy!!

This is one of the best shows I have ever seen on TV - fantastic scripts, brilliant casting, top quality entertainment

In my opinion this is a counterfeit dvd, poor picture provided by seller and this only came out a couple of weeks ago and seller could be charging more but so many fakes bringing price way down.

If you did buy there are ways to check its legit.....look at the back of the disc and see if there is the shows title going round the centre - if its there - its a fake.
Also official dvd's always use double layered dvd's, fakes use single meaning quality reduced to fit on discs.

I watched the whole series on Now tv (when it was on) and found the storyline good but had difficulty understanding some of Matthew McConaughey's dialogue as he has such a strong southern accent and it sounded like he was muttering in places, I had to rewind it in places to try to make out what he was saying!!

Ebay are full of fake dvd's and sounds like this may well be especially at that price!
