Screen legend John Wayne finally received Oscar recognition for his performance as ageing gunslinger Rooster Cogburn. After her father is murdered by outlaw Tom Chancey (Jeff Corey), 14-year-old Mattie Ross (Kim Darby) attempts to track down the killer. She goes to a paunchy, one-eyed marshall (John Wayne) - a man of 'true grit' - and together they pursue Chancey into Native American territory. They are joined by La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), a ranger who is hoping to collect the reward on another of Chancey's murders.

Only problem I found with cd wow was they sent dvds from all sorts of different regions, I think the copies of the wire i ordered from them are australian!

CD WOW! What happened to them? I used to buy quite a bit from them, but this is the first time i've seen them mentioned in ages... Not for me, but heat added btw...
#13
I am not a fan of the movie but cant deny that £4.99 is a good price for a Blu-Ray
#14
Man, if this was ANY other company than CD-WOW, I'd buy it.

90% of my orders have arrived weeks late or have been cancelled.

CDWow used to be a HUKD deal haven. They lost their competitive advantage when the industry clamped down on grey imports.
They also put a stop to their 'overly' generous voucher initiatives and double discount glitches.

We still have them to thank for lower entertainment prices in general as they forced competitiors to reduce their prices.

that was probably the regular dvd, they don't sell blu rays there for less than 15 quid! I've looked a fair few times as they do have some pretty good offers on other stuff but never blus - I could also be wrong though so don't quote me on it either :-p

I just checked; we were both semi-right. It wasn't True Grit, but the Book of Eli for a fiver on blu-ray. They're selling quite a number of blu-rays for that price (Red Cliff, Return of the King), but Eli was the only one that stood out for me.

I was surprised because, as you say, they're usually a rip-off.

By the way OP, it's now showing up as £3.99 at CD WOW...and out of stock.
