These won't be legal to use when the new regulations come in after Christmas requiring kids to be in high backed boosters

the new rules, backless booster seats will only be approved for use for children taller than 125cm and weighing more than 22kg

That's like saying it's illegal to own a 2000w vacuum cleaner - when only the sale is now illegal.

It's not only the fact it's illegal. The high back seats are safer. So do the best for your child and use the the better one.

The new child car seat regulations are expected to come into effect in December 2016, but these will only apply to new products. This means that if you’re looking to buy a booster seat after the regulation change, you’ll see that they’re only approved for children over 125cm or 22kg. If you’ve got an existing booster seat you will be able to use it without breaking any rules, but it is recommended that you buy your child a high-backed booster seat.

There for meaning unless bought before a certain date then completely legal!
It's safer to use a high back booster seat but it won't be illegal if your already using one!

The law comes into effect in march. And restricts the weight from 15 to 22kg. They are still legal from that weight till they are out of seats. We have 2 boostapaks. And they are invaluable on holidays. Not many taxis carry 2 booster seats. We have full seats for use here.
Unlike other booster seats these have a strap to hold a seat belt in the correct location over the shoulder.

Agreed. I have one for short journey travel with friends and to take on holiday. Not paying £35 to hire on holiday AGAIN!!!!
