First deal so be gentle.

These were originally £39.00 but were reduced to £19.50 in sale and online but instore they have been further reduced to £11.70.

Quoted from Sainsburys website:
The non-stick milk pan has a 14cm diameter, and is coated ( as are all the pans) in a Classic Teflon non-stick coating, for great cooking results. Two non-stick saucepans - with 16cm and 18cm diameters respectively - give you a full range of cooking functions from boiling and steaming vegetables, to heating soup and stewing fruit. Because they've got glass tops, it's easy to check on progress too.

The Teflon Classic non-stick frying pan offers a large, 25cm diameter - loads of room for a full English breakfast or a superb, mushroom omelette for two.
End quote:

Asked if it was nation wide and was told yes but to be honest it seemed as if she was guessing.

2 left earlier today in Streatham, 12.30pm 21/01/2011.

EDIT: I can also confirm this deal is active in Purley Way (see post #18) with at least 1 available as of 7.30pm 21/01/2011

Whilst I have to say, from experience of other shoppers on my occasional trips to Sainsburys, that there may be a link to regular shopping at the supermarket and alzheimers, I can't really see what non-stick pans would have to do with it.

read the link..make up your own mind. No pun intended.

Yep, it's pretty simple to see even for the feeble minded - "The overwhelming medical and scientific opinion is that the findings outlined above DO NOT convincingly demonstrate a causal relationship between aluminium and Alzheimer's disease,"

So it's extremely unlikely that the use of aluminium cookware has any relation to Alzheimers and absolutely certain that NON-STICK cookware has none.

The alleged toxicity of various non-stick coatings is of course an separate issue.

I've been looking at their cookware reduction in local store. Whist trying to figure out the star sysem on DuPont's Teflon coating (how many levels it has and what the differences were) the staff said some things are brought in just for the Jan sales. Given 'sales' are a good markdown i'm not sure about the 'original' prices of some of their cookware sales.

From this article -The main sources of aluminium in our diet include tea, beer, baked products, drinking water, toothpaste, aluminium-based antacids, aluminium cookware and some canned beverages.

IMHO the non stick cookware would be the least of my concerns.

Good deal, bought a set in sainos holkywood, birmingham on wednesday night, lightweight but good quality, useful size frying pan as well. The set would cost around £42 if bought as individual items.

great set of pots and pans

Whats the difference between a pot and a pan?
#15
A pot has a lid, a pan doesn't? Maybe!

Ah, as in a frying pan. You have solved years of mystery for me! :)

Seem to think that antiperspirant deodorant also had it in. Not that people inhale it intentionally, but you can't help taking a bit in accidentally.

Well I guess this could be nation wide as on my to Ikea I stopped off at the Sainsburys in Purley way for petrol and nipped in to check it out and there was one left on the shelf under the title of Managers Choice. That was about 7.30pm

At my gym, I'm sure there is more antiperspirant in the atmosphere than oxygen after all these (insert appropriate insult) men have sprayed half a can around their nether regions. So my lungs are probably full of it.

Back on topic(ish), I wish somebody would find a deal on a Tefal Preference 20cm omelette pan (or similar quality). They all seem to be full price, whereas some of the larger pans in the range are discounted.

I think it is nation-wide I went to my local sainsbury ( Chiswick ) and asked a customer assistant he didn't knew about it. We had to look for it and we found it at last . It was right the back of the shop at the very end.

Got one for my self- used my nectar point and got it for only £6.70 and there were loads of them remaining about 15 of them (they are located on the top and bottom self look out for it )

Cheers

Loads of these by the door at my local store (Coreys Mill, Stevenage).
