Not bad I suppose. Heheh. Heat applied duly!
Hi refaey

OpenBox only has one tuner (I think) whereas the Echostar has two.
How does this compare to the OpenBox?

The openbox is ~ £50 + the price of a hard drive so it's better cost-wise. Does anyone know how this one is better than an OpenBox please?
Got this for £10 more at Maplins a few weeks ago - well worth the dosh. Great product.

Icecrypt Freeview HD from Turbosat @ £45.00

great receiver at a good price, bought one earlier in the week, arrived next day and although the box was damaged the receiver looks new.

Graded Topfield TF5810PVRt Receiver NO HDD FITTED £79.95 @ Turbosat

OK so it graded and hasn't got a hard drive fitted, its an easy enough job to do and hard drives are peanuts these days anyway. Not a bad price what with the ability to run TAPS and loads of help

You can fit a large SATA drive but you need to buy an IDE/SATA converter - lots of info on the Toppy website. Voted hot as this is a good price for a barebones unit but bear in mind that lots of TF5810 owners have found this model to be unreliable compared with the older TF5800.

Largely, I imagine, because Freeview HD has just launched so anything SD is going to be old hat

Mmmmm, maybe. We'll probably get all of 2 channels broadcasting HD for an hour a week :whistling:

That aside it still aint a bad deal surely....
Looks good to me
I have teh old version without HDMI and it is a great piece of kit. Has provided many years of excellent service.
I have had several other PVRs before and teh topfield has, by far, been the best.
will upgrade now...thanks for the deal
Any reason for the colds?
