  I have worked at B&Q previously and the turf will last for a week if watered so it is unlikely to be a national offer.

  Why anyone would buy turf from B & Q is beyond me. I just got mine from a local turf grower and it is cut the same day of delivery or the day before and cost £2 a sqm. It came looking perfect too which is something I have never seen at B & Q.
  
  I used to like it there but now it is the most expensive diy place there is.
  
  Not gonna vote cold though as it may be good for someone especially if you only need a small amount:thumbsup:

  i wouldnt bother with this stuff its not great quality and will have been sitting about for a week.
  Ideally you want the turf laid within 24 hours of it being dug up.
  
  I've just laid my lawn, 40sqm cost me £100 delivered www.paynesturf.co.uk/ and the standard of turf is fantastic lovely and green and plush, rather than looking like an old mans ears.

  i used grass seed for a lawn approx 25ft x 15ft ,, cost me £8.00 and 2 months later a beautiful green lawn .. long wait compared to turf but at a fraction of the cost

  Not entirely true, I bought some of the manky stuff a few weeks ago but now it looks great, you'd never know it came from B&Q.
  
  Monday night is the only time to get it cheap round my way.

  ha, doesnt matter where you get it from really, whether its fresh off the ground or 4 days off. its the preperation and the end users ability to keep up to watering the turf. got mine at 50p a roll, granted it was over a week old and a bit yellow, but 2 weeks later perfect lawn, nice saving :)

  With all the above if the store has kept the turf correctly it will last up to a week on the crate. Check with your local store. They will happily let you know what day the delivery comes in and then just turn up the day before and see what deals they have.
  
  However, I dont see the point of buying turn. Just buy some seed and plant it and grow your own. Easier, cheaper and to be honest none of the having to remember to water it all the time, so less likely to look rubbish in the end.

  Ive ordered some from a local supplier ,told me I could even pick the strips If wanted in the field no crap dry areas.
  He keeps it in a refrigerated area until sale. So it must make some difference to the grass.
