Excellent deal but I recommend Olu Deniz rather than Marmaris. It's a far nicer resort and there are hotels available there through this deal.

Olu Deniz is still fairly English but there are no high rise hotels and the blue lagoon is gorgeous. The locals are friendly. Nice place for a couple or a family holiday.

seems cheap, shame the prices are very high during half term holidays. nice deal for the allocated dates

shame about the flight times (arrive about 11pm there and 2am here).

hi everyone!! :)
im new to this so please be nice, looking to go away on the 1st sept for a week, when is best to book a holiday? as booking now is expensive and close to the date its way cheaper, or am i not looking at the right sites for my dates?

thank you

Marmaris was the worst holiay destination I've ever been to. Take the first posts advice IMO.

Then it's a great deal.

I have never been any where and got bitten so much as here, would never go back.
#7
Great deal - but what about the ash clouds - .........

Been going back to Marmaris for the last 8 years and can't break the habit to go anywhere else. Fantastic resort, lovely friendly people, everything going for it.

Only issue for most people is the heat, but may/june it should still be comfortable before the temperatures go into the high 30's and 40's in July.

I'll be there again in July, paying alot more than that! Nice find.

No thanks - My friend was caught up in the ash cloud crisis while in Spain, jet 2 advised him to take their offer of a hire car, drive 1000's of miles home (they would pay petrol/car/ferrry) or else if he didnt take it up they would not give him a penny or a later flight!

Id rather pay a few quid more (Thomas Cook are doing cheap deals c £140pp) and at least know if the flight home is cancelled, I will be taken care of with my accom extended and paid for with repatriation flights allocated as soon as the ban is lifted.

To be honest id have LOVED taking them up on the 1000 mile cross Europe FREE drive...imagine the sights and places you could see on way back?...I think you missed out there, oportunities like that don't come along often

.. or pay for decent insurance and ensure you're covered.

I have world-wide travel insurance with my bank account and am covered for the ash cloud :-D
#12
Can you even get insurance now that will still cover you? Genuine question because I thought insurers were no longer covering it on new policies.

Already paid £320 to go there the week after this :(

Lovely resort, fond memories of there, just be aware they are a little more pushy in this resort than some of the other newer resorts

WOULDNT EVER GO AGAIN"!"!

SPENT 16 DAYS IN THAT RUBBISH PLACE! LOL

hi guys i went to marmaris a few years ago and thought it was amazing. Plenty to do there
When i was there i did scuba diving, parasailing, quad biking, did a 1 day boat cruise, did plenty shopping (lots of fakes there - but the best quality fakes i seen lol), and also clubbing/nightlife was not bad at all. Had a great time with friends. Everything was dirt cheap there too

If you enjoy being around people that hassle you to death, who are ignorant and pushy....then spen d some time in the bazzar.......a truly AWFUL place, unless you are VERY interested in buying a HUGE rug for a couple fo hundred quid!!!!!

I agree......i would have taken full advantage of that situation, especially if i was not incurring any costs of my own/for petrol...

exactly. certainly most new cover from most insurance companies won't cover the ash cloud issue.
I was with the post office and renewed, and I don't know if a renewal counts as a new policy as existing policies do cover it. but M&S and couple of others covered it, but even that was limited to "reasonable" claims and I am not certain what those limits are.

at least with a package, they will get you home / put you up somewhere if delayed. Probably the best bet at the moment.

Extended cover is only available to customers who purchased a policy and made their travel arrangements by midday on Thursday 15 April 2010.

I've had the account for years with year-round travel cover + holiday was booked months ago.

I've checked, and they have confirmed that I'm covered
