this is a cheapo knock off

This is true.

BUT, it is super cheap surely if it does in fact play MKV files, as the Sumvision version of this is about double the price is it not? It looks identical apart from the logo, so what are the chances they are the same, hardware wise?

Get one bought and let us know how bad it is!!

I had one of these from this company, not worth the hassle. Didn't play half of the files and I've read others have had issues with mkv's not playing past a certain amount of minutes. They did refund me though and paid my return postage costs.

The sumvision one is £17.99 from play.com ......

I bought one of these when they were selling them on Amazon and Genuine SumVision Players.

After about 30mins of MKV playback the player would jump to the next movie file. With no firmware updates available, and having paid for a genuine SumVisoion product it was returned.

At £18 thats not a bad price, but with the MKV support being flawed then I've stick to a real product with onlilne backup and potential updates.

This only read FAT and FAT32, which means it won't play files larger than 4GB

So in other words peeps its a cheapo knock off :p

I would rather pay more for a product that works...false economy buying sh1t just coz its cheap. Making it look like the Official Sumvision one is like putting a cherry on a t,urd

That would be the Cyclone that doesnt support MKV playback right? The Cyclone 2 is £32.99.

I have the Cyclone 2, and it too has MKV playback problems, with some files cutting off at 1hr 40 minutes. Others have had a similar problem. And, the description happens to mention NTFS support, but not for SD Cards oO

just had mine delivered, and was apprehensive to say the least, but . . . . so far so good, currently playing a 7.2gb mkv file via sd card, the remote despite it's naff looks is very responsive, and the menu is simple.

Ideal for trips away!
