Full description:
The Ear Force PX21 gaming headset pushes your Playstation 3 (PS3) gaming experience to a new level with superior stereo sound and crystal-clear communication on the PlayStation Network (PSN) through a USB connection.

The P21 gives you a competitive advantage by bringing out sound cues in the game that are difficult to hear with speakers—such as the footsteps of an enemy sneaking up on you or the loading of a weapon at a far distance.

By combining PSN online chat with stereo game audio, the P21 also lets you clearly hear the voices of online players so you can communicate without being distracted from the game.

With its exceptional audio quality, convenient online communication and comfortable ergonomic design, the PX21 can help you become a better player while making it a lot more fun to play games on your PS3!

Features:

Hear PlayStation Network (PSN) chat together with stereo game sound.

Spreads the stereo signal to provide a wider effect as opposed to normal stereo sound.

Variable bass boost produces deep, rich bass tones by increasing the volume of low frequency sounds.

Dynamic talkback automatically increases the PSN chat levels during intense gaming sequences.

Eliminates game sounds picked up by chat mic.

Separate volume controls for game sound and incoming chat.

Built-in mic monitor mixes your voice into the headphones so you can hear what you're saying.

A single USB connection provides power and sends your chat signal to teammates over the PSN.

You can buy adapters for the PS3 to use any headset so you could potentially use the X41 - they are also wireless. This is a cheaper alternative for those that don't mind wires or can't afford £100 for a headset. My official PS3 one is missing the ear clip so on the look out for a replacement at an 'affordable' price.

Can you? I've been after some wireless headphones for my PS3, with game sounds and game chat, so also with a mic. What sort of adapter do you need to go with what headphones?

Ideally I want 5.1/7.1 too but that is pushing my luck! Although I'd possibly sacrifice wireless for that...

Try this Link. Think it allows to you use any gaming headset. No idea of reliability etc hence why I bought the product I listed.

You are able to switch the mic off and just use them as a normal set of headphones for gaming? Also do you find you have to spend more time muting people as their voice comes through louder and clearer than if you were playing with just normal headphones on?

I'm trying to work out how it has the clear loud sounds of the game (enemy footsteps for example) and also the sound of peoples voices. With a normal set of headphones voices are usually pretty quiet.

Like the look/reviews of these but man theres a lot of cable!!!! I hate cables!!!!

Can be uncomfortable after two or three hours use, but microphone is great quality and flexibility. And you can shut up a whole lobby of whinging kids through the touch of a button.

That adapter is a bit expensive, I got this a while back and allows me to use my X1s on my PS3

EDIT: damn its blocking the ebay link, just search for "PORTABLE USB 2.0 3D VIRTUAL 5.1CHANNEL PC SOUND CARD" and it should come up. Its only £1.75
You'll also have to use a rca to 3.5mm adapter for game audio, looks like this;
http://www.turtlebeach.com/Portals/0/Products/Xbox/X11/Tabs_Html/accessories/audioSplitter.jpg
Turtle beach headsets should come with this rca adapter but having a spare would stop you having to swap between PS3 and 360.

The PX21 for £50 is a great deal though, if I didn't already have the X1s I'd go for the PX21s. This is by far the cheapest I've seen them.

Good price. But have to say you can't use them to actually pinpoint movements accurately. These are stereo headsets. But this is the cheapest ps3 gaming headset on the market. so heat added.
#23
I bought these a couple of months ago and they are a good headset. I was looking for a set that would work with all of PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and there are relatively few that offer that.

The sound comes through clearly though there can be a bit of white noise if there is no audio playing. Once you are in a game though the audio from that is all you hear.

so how long is the wire?

Headset and game audio, they are great for late night gaming as you can have it as loud as you want and not disturb anyone. They are great in FPS games, really draws you in.

Also considering the official PS3 Headset costs like £18, For £50 your getting a higher quality mic along with a top notch headset all in one.
#33
Bought this! Bargin price for this headset! Mate got this today for £60
#34
I bought a pair of these last year, and have to say they have been fantastic for use on the xbox, good base in the sound in games like MW2 and you can change volume of chat and game seperately so it wont drowned out chat. this is a v good price and voted hot.!
