As if I'd spend another console's worth of money on a pair of headphones to hear a pre-pubescent American child call me a "fag nooblar" half a dozen times a second.

I have a baby and the other half doesn't want the loud sounds of screaming/gunshots/swearing disturbing him. These would be great if they worked on the PS3 as well as the 360, does anyone know of any headphones that do this? Cheers

Yes you would. I can't beleive I wasted my time with the X4s (model before these), but luckily I got my money back through ebay.

If your serious about getting some gaming/music headphones, spend the extra £80 or so on the Astro A30s + Mixamp bundle, so damn awesome.

Refer to my post above  They work on everything. Another alternative is to buy just the mixamp on its own, as it makes any headphones surround sound, even cheapo £10 Aldi ones.

If thats out of your price range, look for the Sharkoon X-Tatic headset, similar price to these, but wired. Works on everything and has much better sound quality than this turtle beach crap.

Just a side note: The Turtle Beach X41s do work with the ps3, but you wont get voice chat, but is still an option if you absolutely need wireless.

these headphones are terrible, the wireless signal is really poor and the build quality is crap. i recommend the astro mixamp with some Ear Force HPX1s (better than the A30s). check out http://www.limexb360.co.uk/category/Xbox_360_Headphones,i.html

check out the official TB support forum to see just bad the X41s are http://www.turtlebeach.com/Forums/tabid/558/Default.aspx (currently offline). I posted a few complaints on there and they were all removed for no reason.

Yeah I heard about the HPX1s being a lot better. Saying that I have 2 mixamps and only 1 headset, so I might give them a try sometime. Main reason for getting the A30s was for music when in Uni etc, didn't want to lug around a pair of huge cans whenever I felt like banging some thrash metal on on-the-go :whistling: so the A30s are tiny and do the job perfectly

It's all about personal preference, it would be cool to try out all the different types of headphones before buying as this would be the best way to find out what works best.

Good to hear you're using your headphones to listen to some decent music as well! :)

It has seperate volume control for in game chat (or at least the X1's do).

HA!

Yup indeed, it would have saved me so much time. Instead of the Sharkoon X-Tatics and the TB X40s I'd have just gone straight for the Astro's, would have saved so much money.

I guess I just dont like the "pure gaming" headsets anymore, and need something with a bit more bass. Most guns on the likes of CoD etc distorted my turtle beach/sharkoons so it meant hearing anyone around me impossible anyway, since it couldnt handle the low ends very well at all.

I'm guessing those HPXs are pure gaming headsets too, since theyre TB.

As well as the mute function and ability to turn off all voice audio via the console's dashboard anyway

I love my x41's...Use them for gaming, music & movies. The advantage you get in games is real good as you can hear so much more detail than your ordinary tv speakers would ever let you hear.

The only turtle beach headphones that work with the ps3 are the P21 and the PX21 (Just the new version of the P21) Only problem is that they are wired, on the upside they are a lot cheaper. Just ordered them and posted what I can see as the cheapest price:
