£5 delivery needs to be added to this or get free delivery to your local store.

EDIT: Thanks to maxcovergold - Amazon have temporarily price matched for £80 free delivery. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Turtle-Beach-Wireless-Headset-Force/dp/B002KSPKRS

Wow awesome price, i thought when i got it for £100 that was good. Heat added
#5
These any good for movies? And would they work on a ps3?
#6
I already have X1's... This deal is too tempting tho!

Thanks OP :)... Oh how I hate this website!
#7
I took the plunge for them too.. was far too tempting... Just a shame I used the £10 off voucher last night for a lawnmower and it cant be used twice...

Works out almost £40 cheaper than next cheapest (amazon) if you can take advantage of all of the vouchers/cashback
#8
It's not letting me use both vouchers together :(
#9
wow cracking price, I just sold one of these for £85 2nd hand

yes the surround sound does work on PS3, but the mic doesnt work I think

however you do get annoying drops in connection if you have wireless internet and it gets on your ****

apart form that they are brilliant

Not according to the spec at Tesco. I would be interested in knowing whether they would work as surround sound headphones on a media player (Popcorn Hour or WDTV which both have optical outputs). Would be worth it for me if they do (dual purpose with Xbox 360).

What's the point of having a wireless headset on the 360 when the controller -into which wired headsets plug in anyway- is less that a meter away from the headset?

Good price, but pointless IMHO.

Yes they work fine with anything that has an optical connection, PS3 included for gaming or Blu Ray, but as said above the chat won't work without a seperate item i believe. Only slight frustration i've had with mine is some Blu rays use DTS not Dolby Digital, and they don't work with that.

Other than that though i'm really happy with mine and i thought £114 was a bargain 3 months ago. I'm actually tempted to get a 2nd pair to have permanently connected to my 2nd 360 in the bedroom as i can use my niece's staff discount to bring this down to £63!....

You clearly miss the point. You thinking of a wired headset, which is simply for voice chat in games. They aren't headphones.

These are wireless headphones with voice chat incorporated. The wired equivelent would need a cable connected to yout TV or Amp to get game audio.

EDIT: For info these still require the short wire from headphones to the pad for chat.

I had these for over a year and they DO work for gaming on the PS3

but they were designed with Xbox live in mind and so I think the mic doesnt work

@Del

£114 was still a good price, I paid £119 on a pre-order from ebuyer in Feb 2010,

Very interested, how are the head phones powered? Are they charged from the base unit? I have some surround sound headphones now but they take batteries and rechargeables don't last :S

They are powered by USB so really simple and flexible. I use a usb on my tv but can quickly disconnect and then take to use on my 360 upstairs alson without needing to unplug adaptors etc.

Also a massive plus for these headphones is that there is a standard headphone jack on the base unit also, so you can connect another wired set of headphones to the base unit and get the surround benefit on them also, or simply have two people connected if watching a movie etc....

No. The headphones themselves are powered by two AAA batteries.

The base unit is powered via USB.

I have a pair of these. They're absolutely brilliant. I paid £130 for them when they first come out and they were definitely worth it.

BraveSirRobin, the head phones are powered by 2xAAA batteries (not charged from the base unit), whilst the base unit is powered by a usb cable which you connect to your console.

Cracking price, sadly not long ago I got a wireless headset for chat, and have a 5.1 set up, so the missus would strongly disapprove. Still tempted mind :p
#21
Brilliant! I was looking for some wireless gaming headphone, since my cat nomed the cable on my fatil1ty ones!
Cheers op!

Hot hot hot, paid £90 for these 3 weeks ago

Will confirm whats alread stated

ie can be used on ANY system that outputs Toslink optical signal in DPLII or DD (NOT DTS)
(Toslink cable IS supplied with headset)

Chat as standard via supplied cable (which has seperate volume & mute control) from headset to Xbox 360 controller approx 1m long

The chat mic is also detachable, ideal for kicking back listening to music or watching a movie

Chat CAN be obtained on PS3 by purchasing additional leads (yes, it can)

I have used these primarily with GT5 on PS3 & with movies & they are great especially at night as I have young children & like my movies loud

The bass however isnt great & tbh, they are terrible with games like Call Of Duty, however I am comparing them to a full AV setup but if u only play games or watch movies via TV speakers, these are a massive step-up in sound quality

The station it comes with also has optic out so for me for eg, I can use amp or headset for sound without the need for cable switching

The station also has standard 3.5mm output jack for an addition set of wired headphoes, ideal for those split-screeners

Take it from me, if u like playing games or movies at night when u need to be a bit quieter, these are a must & at this price, they are a steal, still worth £140 imo & even without the codes, the price is still a steal

Comfort is also good, the mesh type ear cups are very comfy (with or without glasses) & do not make ur ears hot although this design is good, it does cause some sound leakage but nothing to worry about

The only downside I can speak of personally, is it uses 2 x AAA batteries & does not have the ability to charge at all, so some rechargeable AAA batteries (4 - 2 whilst using & 2 for backup) are a must (7 day shop do some 1100mAh ones for £3.79 del)

For battery life, with chat, about a week based on 4-5 hours gaming a night, without chat, its doubled as the chat side of it really does suck em dry

My personal rating 8/10 only downscored because of batteries & lack of bass in COD (bass is good on GT5 tho)

oh, just thought of another problem, GT5 does output in 7.1, however, despite these headsets claiming 7.1, the options in PS3 OXM dont actually let u turn on the 7.1, not sure why not, maybe its just me ?

Whilst I await mine... is it possible at a flick of a switch I can play the xbox through my surround sound as opposed the turtle beach? or do things need unplugging first?

Well yes, i thought the question was related to the unit. Obvioulsy the headset isn't connected by any cables.

Best to get some rechargables for the headphones themselves.

You don't even need to do that. One of the best features of this over other headsets is that the base unit has an optical out pass through feature. Therefore, you can have your 360 linked to the optical in, or as in my case i have my 360, PS3 and HD DVD player all linked to a 3 way optical switch, which is linked to my TB base unit input. I then have another cable linking the output from the base unti to my Receiver.

Result is if you want to use the X41's simply pick them up and press the power button. If you want to use your amp, just power it up.

OMG ! i paid £90 odd and thought that was good :( .
#32
Ordered a pair for £90 (with voucher) five days ago. Just phone Tescos and they refunded me the £20 price drop. I think I'll get another pair at this price!
#33
Seriously tempted by this, i had some x1's about a year ago and was impressed by the quality but i hated the wires so i sold them. As these are wireless though i might buy them anyway because i could probably get more on ebay anyway if i don't like them. Thanks OP.
#34
