•Xbox 360 gaming headset with stereo sound & Xbox LIVE chat the Ear Force XLC is the ideal headset for cost-conscious gamers who want to enjoy improved game sound with their Xbox 360.

•Unlike basic communicator headsets that only let you hear Xbox LIVE chat in one ear, the XLC combines high-quality stereo game audio with Xbox LIVE chat, eliminating the need for the mono communicator and external speakers.

•The unique noise-reduction ear cushions help block out distractions, so you can concentrate on the game, enjoy the full impact of the stereo sound from your XBOX 360 and become a better player.

•The multi-pivot headband lets you fold up the headset into a compact size so it's easy to take with you wherever you go.

•RCA Splitter Cable adaptor (supplied).

PLENTY OF THESE LEFT AT MY LOCAL STORES SO HOPEFULLY PLENTY FOR EVERYONE :D

Does anyone know why my headset plays sound through the TV as well as the headset? Really bugging me now :(
#4
have you checked the settings on the console, select it to play through headset only on the dashboard
#5
Great price nice spot :D

Well worth £12.50. Not as comfortable as X11s etc, and the mic and game sound only has one volume dial but can't complain at this price. Much better than the official mic, no doubt about that.

The vinyl ear cushions can get a little uncomfortable after long play sessions, like my old X1s.

_____

On a side note, I actually replaced the stock ear cushions on my X1s with the breathable fabric ones from the X41 headset. Much more comfortable. I emailed the EU suppliers about it and they actually ended up sending me the X41 ear cushions for free ;)

Surely this is not possible.. all sound through the headset connected to the wireless controller?
#8
Thanks just got the last two at my local! :D
#9
Absolute bargain, reserved the last pair at Linwood :o)

Bought a pair of these at xmas. Lasted 3 weeks and fell to bits. JUNK. avoid
#11
wow hot, just bought this a few weeks ago for £18, thought that was a good deal!
#12
Bargain for a very good headset
#13
These did break within a month of me buying them from asda, but i found it hard to hear party members. Might have just been my bad set, but i have read it on other reviews too... Still a good price though!

yes it is possible as you connet the headset to the controller for mic sound, then you connect it to your tv for game sound. so both come through the headset

It should have came with a rca splitter cable in the box, connect that to the red and white pins of your component or composite cable.
If you use HDMI lead you either have to get the 360 audio adapter or mod your composite or component av cable so that they can be plugged in at the same time. If you down the 2nd route, wrap some electrical tape round it for safety.

Can you set these up to output just voice chat? I'm not interested in the sound from the game (want that to come through my home cinema setup), but they look a bit more comfortable to use for voice chat than the existing headset.
#22
Dumb question, I'm sure, but are these compatible with things like Rock Band to use as headphone mics?
#23
Absolute bargain. Paid fifteen quid for these from asda a few weeks back. Takes a bit of fiddling to get them set up correctly (play through both in the sound settings, in game sound settings turned down and the tv volume turned up to enable the chat to be much more audible) they're spot on. Heat and rep. (well virtual rep seeing as thats not available no more :) )
#24
Good price I might invest in a pair.
#25
Ordered one to pick up locally but it won't be there until Monday or Tuesday, gives me a bit of time to check reviews etc though and decide if I actually do want it.

The only thing I've heard about these are from a few mates who work in Gamestation and they rave about them. I'm thinking they're not like the surround sound headphones though are they?
#26
so i could use these to play single player games early in the morning etc so as not to wake anyone up?
#27
Although cheap, it has 2 wires too many for my liking = tangles and annoyance. I know there is no way round this other than wireless, it'd just annoy the hell out of me. Voted hot all the same though.
#28
Do you get the game sound through them or just chat ??
#29
reserved a set, not yet picked up, but there sem to be quite a few comments about them breaking at the pivot/fold-up point - anyone experienced this?

Yep works fine.

Quick question, my tv is currently connected to the xbox via HDMI cable, unfortunately my tv doesn't have a headphone port! (odd) Does anything exist that can split the HDMI cable and give me a headphone port so that I can use these? Hope that makes sense...

It is annoying not having headphones for the tv.

No just Stereo.

IMO
These are a good alternative to the standard headphones as you get the sound from not only the Xbox, but in game chat to.

Only major drawback with these is that the chat side of them isn`t amplified so they are very quiet.

I have the old X1`s (wired) now replaced by the X11`s
My son has a pair of XLC`s and mine still beat these hands down. even though they are a couple of years old.

Don`t get me wrong for what they are, and the price they are a good alternative to the standard.
Just not in the same league as the X11 upwards.

Just reserved the last set in my local store. Thanks!

This.
I barely use my XLC because I just can't hear what anyone's saying. The bass is too high and the treble far too low — I can't understand anything, even if I don't have it play game sounds. If you've got a car roaring in your ear, you've got no chance of understanding anyone at all.

Exactly the point i was trying to make.
If the chat had been amplified for the price they would have been the dogs dangly bits.

garbage....so you have loads of wiring trailing to the tv or in my case amp....15-25ft of wire....great, no thanks - thought we'd moved on from 1980

I posted this in response to similar question in first page, don't see any harm in reposting here.
