Turtulise yourself with DX's motorcycle body armour for around £33.00 @ DealExtreme

ilikoiliko

Well this was posted a year ago and it is time for refresh as item is back in store.
Like it was said in previous post this may not be high end stuff for motorcycling but certainly for extreme mountain biking it's a lot of protection for around £33. Up to hukd/biker-ers judgement.

Looks good - will it be subject to import tax?

TBH this is not something i'd buy without seeing it in the flesh, to assertain what strength & quality it has.
Might be ok for the off road guys that only take low speed spills and need something like this to wear over light clothing to keep cool.

Maybe. But wouldn't you look a bit of a t1t wearing fishnet stockings on your arms?

    a review from the site

    Pros:
    Fits well, looks good.
    Cons:
Does not seem to be able to absorb significant amount of kinetic energy. Spine protection is next to non-existant -- armor plates are thin, soft and flexible.
    Other Thoughts:
Ok for mountain bike, definitely too weak for motor bike, though better than wearing no protection at all. And it is much cheaper than anything I could buy in local stores.. but own health is not a good thing to save money on.
    Bottomline:
Offers reasonable protection from skin scratches, but won't save you from breaking your bones if you fall a bit harder.

Doubles as a madmax outfit for Halloween?

Looks like a gimp-suit for those who play ultra rough. Cold!

Thought it might come in handy in a zombie outbreak but not with the fishnet. I'll stick to my original plan of holding up in a shopping mall.

LOL great if you want to look like a dead space/halo/DOA hybrid

Probably better to spend a decent amount on CE mark body armour. Good if you plan on making stupid videos for YouTube though.
