Normal freeview boxes don't work where i live (Eastbourne) so i don't suppose this will either??
#2
If you are buying one of these check it works in your area as they do not work in a lot of places!!!

Probably not, the aerials on these devices are notoriously poor, they work much better hardwired to a normal home aerial.
I would think that an area with a good reception would be needed for this to work well.
#4
Most of them don't work with Vista either
#5
Is this media centre compatable?
#6
Try www.wolfbane.com for an excellent guide to analogue and digial TV reception strengths, including allowances for intervening terrain (ruddy big hills) To get the best you'll need a browser pluginwhich can display postscript data.
#7
You really need to put how much and where from in the main title, ask a mod and they will sort it out for you!
#8
We get freeview here, but reception isn't great, but we pick up most channels. That's through the roof antennae mind

Think I'll have a problem getting at least 10 channels (inc. terrestial, thats all I care about really) with this thing?

Does this model with with EyeTV, it looks like the same remote as the Freecom DVT-3 so perhaps is the same chipset?

It's amazingly useful comments like that which make you wonder whether there shouldn't be an IQ test before you get an Internet connection.

The fact you can get such things 'cheapher elsewhere' is useless in itself - some ideas on WHERE might make it worth posting (other than just to boost your rating)...

Ok where can you get them cheaper ?

maybe china but i have had a look around the net and this one seems the best deal and thats why i posted !!

Although I paid almost double this a couple of weeks ago from maplins (instore, cant see it on their web site now) I'm still happy with it.

Its worth noting this is one of the very few tv sticks that works with Windows 2000 - most of them seem to need XP. So its handy alternative to buying a new telly if your teenager already has a pc.

The arial tho small is actually quite good, and once installed you can upgrade the software by clicking on (i think) the about link somewhere. On an old windows 2000 box the user interface is slow, but once the pictures up its ok.

Note that it does seem to need USB2 to run. If you're not sure you can pick up a USB2 card for around a fiver at the same time http://www.ebuyer.com/product/108594

Ummm, having carefully considered a suitable response to your post, which admittedly must have been difficult to write with one hand since the other was doubtless slapping yourself on the back, I think the best thing I can say is:
ESAD.

does thisa make your P.C a T.V or am i missing something?
#17

Both my teenage kids for starters... for msn and surfing and homework etc its more than fine!!! They have an older PC each as it keeps them off my one which I also use for work, so if they trash anything its easy enough to reinstall windows 2000...
