Foir those of us who cannot effort to buy a full blowing TV to use on a PC :-)
The GNR TV200 is a unique TV Tuner add on to any LCD TFT monitor with an un-obstructed VESA wallmount fitting of 100mm x 100mm (VESA100). This analogue tuner simply attaches to the VESA wallmount holes of your LCD still allowing wallmounting of your screen and also allows the VGA signal from your PC to be throughput through the device. Running independantly of your PC, it doesnt require your PC to be powered in order to use it! The kids can watch TV at night on their LCD TFT without the noise or added electricity bill associated with a PC.

Resolution=1024 x 768 Pixels? Does it mean it can support TV signal up to this resolution?

I presume this will be no good when we go digital later this year

I was going to say, has nobody spotted the analogue part.

Useless, at least in the SW anyway.

I just gave one of these type of units away; was attached to my advent monitor. Awful bit of kit but handy if you need to put a playstation or similar through a monitor.

Or VHS?

Ive had one on the back of an advent monitor and it works well . Turn an old or cheapo lcd monitor into a tv for a bedroom or something .

Could you not plug a freeview box into this using the RCA cables and have a digital TV out of your monitor for about £30 all in?

I can't see why not!
Your monitor is going to have to have audio speakers too though - I would be tempted, but the little 15" monitor I have which this would attach to hasn't got any, so I would need separate amplified speakers to use it as a standalone "TV" all of which is beginning to make it a bit untidy :-(

Total cost is £13.78 inc. delivery incidentally.

does anyone know of a digital equivalent???
this is good if u want to plug in a digibox

this is just the ticket for using my PS2 on my monitor... i have DVI and VGA on my monitor so i can use this without having to unplug anything! the equivalent to get a ps2 on a pc is about £30 on ebay...

plus my TV card is well flakey so atleast i can use this until the shut off of analog and then will probs get a digi box for it too...

Ordered + heat + rep..

people need to use their imaginations with this one. Think of it as a composite to VGA converter

OK if you live in the east, but most of the west side of England goes digital this year and the analogue transmitters there will get switched off.

Been using a similar product by Gadmei for a few years now and that works well with any feed including digi boxes.
#15
£14 posted though, rip off that the shipping is more than the item.

this is a great piece of kit... puts my PS2 on the screen really nice and crisp! such a bargain!

Damn I was looking for something like this a few months ago to drive some old CRT monitors. Chucked the monitors now though

chucked my old one that cost me 400 quid many moons ago too as 'useless' for PC but would have been handy 'tv' :s
