A lone time traveller from the year 2035 must solve a riddle that may save his people... but it may also take him to the brink of madness. Bruce Willis, Madeline Stowe and Brad Pitt star in this brilliant sci-fi masterpiece from Terry Gilliam. After the world's population is devastated by a killer virus, survivors must live in dark underground communities. Cole (Willis) "volunteers" to travel into the past to obtain a pure virus sample, thereby helping scientists develop a cure. Along the way, he crosses paths with a beautiful psychiatrist (Stowe) and a one-card-short-of-a-full-deck mental patient (Pitt). But the race is on, as Cole searches for The Army of the Twelve Monkeys, a radical group linked to the deadly disease.

With unforgettable performances and imaginative special effects, Twelve Monkeys is a modern-day classic laced with Gilliam's trademark wit and dazzling visual style.

Lol, not too bad a film but quite forgettable. With its age i'm surprised it's not being given away free with a newspaper.

You've gotta be kidding! This is one of the most unique, interesting and memorable films i have ever seen!

My favourite Terry Gilliam film for sure, and I dont see how you can describe any Gilliam film as "forgettable"! :o

Brilliant movie! Highly recommend this one. This and Being John Malkovich - two of my favourite movies.

yup, very good film, good piece of sci-fi and the hamster factor is probably worth that price alone, one of the best and most indepth making of's ever made.

in fact, the only one i can think of that's better is associated with another Gilliam project, Lost in La Mancha which basically chronicles the disasters that beset his attempt to film Don Quixote.

Mmm, one of my favourites actually - IMHO it's one of the best post-apocalypse type films for the last 30 years and the first that proved that Pitt could act a bit. Voted hot! I like Gilliam, you know for a fact he isn't sitting there pondering on profit (too much) but just getting on with what he thinks will be most entertaining.

Good tip cowkiller I'll give that a blast ;) rep given.
