I've been looking for a new cheap sofa and found this offer at Argos. One ordinary and one large Belvedere sofa for £179.99 plus £5.95 postage. Don't forget Quidco and the bank holiday voucher offer to save a little more.

First post after a long lurking career so be kind :-)

Wow, that's a lot of sofa for not a lot of money! Argos furniture's never up to much, but at that price you can't complain. Great find!

Good deal if you're not into quality.
#3
Also if you can wait. Don't expect these to arrive anytime soon. My ex order some 6 weeks ago and the delivery time has just been quoted as another 4 weeks.

Avoid....

i just received a pair of sofas from argos after a long wait. i was surprised to see they were made in china. is there anything they don't make:?

I know what you are saying about quality etc but I am looking for stop-gap and we can't all afford to pay top prices for quality. The cheapest pair of better quality sofas I could find online was over £500. Cheaper quality sofas elsewhere are around £350-£400 a pair. At just over £85 per sofa I don't mind taking a risk on delivery and am not expecting high quality - just somewhere to sit down!

Cheers

Not my cup of tea
but was tempted as a for now settee
for my kitten to claw up until its old enough for me to get a new leather one
#9
Not great quality... but for the money they are worth it
#10
not bad for a holiday home or if you are letting a place and need to furnish it cheaply
#11
Why be kind? voted hot great find.

Very office reception area retro
#13
That's what I was thinking. Not really for lounging in.

Fantastic price though.

Argos sofas r rubbish quality

This one possibly isn't great quality but I have had mine from Argos for almost 4 years without any problems - except the roof leaking nearly killed my poor sofa :(

It cleaned really well and it's still in great condition.

Argos sofas r rubbish quality

some people on here, it certainly seems like recently, complain for the sake of complaining. This is a deals website and not HotUKQuality. And unless you are Argos head of furniture purchasing and know every sofa they have sold over the last 5 years and what percentage they have had complaints about becuase "Argos sofas r rubbish quality" then you really aren't in a position to make such and assumptive and generalised statement.

By all means have something constructive to say but two sofas for £180 is a belter of a deal albeit any right minded person won't expect these to take a beating in use and last for 5 years.

Yeah the sofa snobs are out in force

Brilliant deal for someone looking to furnish their first home (I've known people who've used deck chairs inside for a year! This is surely better), or someone looking for a stop gap, or someone furnishing a place to let, or even to replace tatty sofas if you're looking to sell and need the place to look neat.

Also brilliant deal for someone looking to furnish their office reception on the cheap :)

Ordered as our sofa's are falling apart and can't afford a new suite yet.

This willl see us through to next year.

this has been expired

LOL people complaning about the quality and they probably buy junk from DFS ...
#22
Bit of a longshot here, is anybody interested on the smaller or larger sofa only, as im after one or other for my cinema room, living in wales would also help :)

I hope that you are not making a " rash " decision...;-)

ought to be sorted after all the press I'd say

Sorry I think I agree with the snobs. Look at the picture. Calling it a sofa is borderline truth. Its a bench with some foam cushions on it.

Quote from link : Hundreds of people have experienced rashes and blistering across their body since buying leather sofas from major high-street retailers... From the legal firm website "During usage, the chemical then leaks out through the leather and into the skin."

Quote on Belvedere : ....make the Belvedere an ideal choice for the modern home. Upholstered in a 100% chenille fabric
