Have worked at Chiquitos and can assure you that it is nowhere near authentic Mexican. Can't speak for the other branches but the one in Leicester Square in London also had shocking issues with rodents.

Just like a Chinese restaurant doesn't do authentic Chinese food, at least not like they actually eat over there.

I can definately confirm that... thought I knew what Chinese food was and then went and lived in Taiwan for a year. That really opened my eyes:thumbsup:

Well I am South East Asian and beg to differ there are more authentic restaurants here than in other parts of Europe. Indian restaurants in Tooting are very original esp the sri lankan ones as well as the middle eastern ones in Edgware Road. I have been to some Malaysian restaurants in Portobello road and two or three in China town which are overpriced but dishes are same as the ones I make at home and ones I had when I was growing up in that part of the world.

Generally speaking thought the average Chinese restaurant isn't as authentic as those you mention.

I don't think chiquitos market themselves as authentic, they're a theme restaurant tailored more to the UK pallette and perceptions of mexican food.

I agree the average chinese restaurant isnt as authentic as they market themselves to be but compared to most of Europe, they are the closest plus there are one or two gems out there.
