About

Wind tunnels have been used for years to test the aerodynamics of cars. Then some bright spark came up with the idea of flipping one upright and jumping into the airflow - and body flying was born. The wind tunnel is a 120mph wall of air, easily strong enough to support your weight, so that you can experience freefall without the need to jump out of a plane. You'll both start off with a safety briefing from your instructor before being kitted out with your specialist flight suit. Then step into the wind tunnel with your instructor, where you'll be lifted into the air for two incredible 60 second sessions of body flying. As a comparison, during a skydive from 10,000 feet, you would experience around 30 seconds of freefall. If you're lucky, your instructor will jump on the flow and show you some astonishing freefall acrobatics. Your flying sessions will end with a debrief, and you'll also get a DVD of your flights to take home.

Tempted to tick another Crimbo pressie off the list.

Only get two minutes actual sky diving - seems a bit short to me!
#8
Does anyone know if this will have an expire date and when?
#9
Good if you live in MK, but if you don't, then take the plunge (so to speak) and do the real thing - much more fun, believe me I've done it
#10
They're building one of these next to the snowslope (chillfactore) by the trafford centre.

Hopefully will be some similar deals when its open!!!
#11
fantastic find op. I have been doing a skydiving course and want to get some freefall experiance before my first freefall jump. Gotta be worth a go.

Hi I have just rung them and the voucher is valid for 10 months from purchase so can book up to August 2010- you can ask for available dates before you book and then secure one that suits you- i'm booking for our sons 9th birthday treat! might even have a go myself!

looks like the discount code VCODES08 gives you a further 10% off (not including delivery charge) but it will invalidate Quidco which is 13%-s'pose it depends if you want the discount up front or you are willing to wait for the extra 3%!

It says so on the quidco site.

Might be a silly question but it says bring a friend along from mon-fri for free. Does this mean for £49, you get 2 people doing the sky dive or just 1 and the other watching (during monday-friday)??? Slightly confused.

My sister got me this for my b'day - very good fun, there was also a jump from the actual tower thrown in. :-)

i did this last year at MK. It's a great idea but it's all over so quickly. if you don't master it you don't have long enough to learn to correct yourself so you end up looking a bit of prat flapping about
#20
Thanks op, one more xmas pressie off the list!
#21
I did this 3 weeks ago. booked through Airkix who operate the sky diving. Its a lot easier doing it with their online booking. It cost £39 each for 2 x 1 minute flights. It was great fun but the whole journey from Dorset to MK wasnt. I would do it again but would book longer to make it more worth while. They have just finished building another wind tunnel in Manchester. They are also not the only wind tunnel in the country . Search online & you will find others & cheaper but this is a good deal buy 1 get 1 free as Airkix are also doing this deal themselves online.

A bargain at only 20p a second!

From looking at bog-standard tandem parachute jumps you only seem to get about 1 min of freefall anyway though so you get twice as long altogether as you would for a £200+ jump.

Seems pretty hot to me :)

This gets my vote, I did this not so long ago (at a different place though) but it was fab, fab, fab!! 2 mins doesn't seem like long (and I could have had much longer in the tunnel but some people dont like it - like my hubby who only lasted about 30 sec!) but personally, it is so worth it just for the fun of doing it!!!!
#28
Probably fun, but seems like a very expensive way to enjoy 2 minutes to me!

Take your money to a 'massage' parlour instead - you should get more than 2 minutes of pleasure for your money there!
#29
This is a good deal compared to the normal price and it is great fun. I did 10 mins (£110) last night with sparky (4 time world champion) coaching me :) Going back next week for another 40 mins (20 mins 1on1, 20 mins 4-way £295) training with sparky, and then another 30 mins at the end of the month with my club (3-way £80) :)

Expensive but sooooo worth it!

Didn't think it was worth starting a separate thread for this SO use voucher code EARLYBIRD for 20% off when you checkout! ;-)
