These are the large 'adult' eggs (445g - large egg plus a 250g bar of chocolate).
The are £4.99 each and advertised at 2 for £8 however on my recipt it says "adult eggs £4.99 2 for £5" and this is what i was charged saving £4.98!!!

Also galaxy, maltesers, toblerone & guylian eggs are in the advertised offer, don't know if these would work too.

Was in Tesco Horsham today and they were 2 for a £5 there too

I went to buy my husband a mars selection egg, with 4 different bars in it, and saw the deal. I grabbed myself an after 8 egg, which has a full box of after 8s in it for a 1p :) it's a good deal!
#3
does the egg contain the yummy gooey stuff??
#4
So it's anything under the " 2 for £8" deal? Not just Cadbury, as there is Toblerone and Guylian too? Well I know where I'll be at 6:45am tomorrow before work! (at the Tesco petrol station)
#5
might pop over to Tesco Express right now :D
#6
They were £2 each in ASDA a while ago.
#7
I believe that it is NOT a misprice at all - my understanding from my GF who works as a manager at Tesco, is that this is part of a retaliation to Asda's recent advertising. I think there might be some new aggressive Tesco adverts cropping up soon too.

I think they were smaller eggs, no?

Thats my local tesco too! Don't shop there though! Have they finished refurbishing it yet?

Good price though.... but i think i'll just buy the £1.99 bogof ones in sainsburys, and get all my eggs for £6 (im a cheapskate!)
#10

The smaller eggs were £1 each before in Tesco and 5 for £4 last time i was there so even cheaper than Sainsburys. Supermarket price wars do crack me up - but I feel for any smaller retailer trying to flog easter eggs this year :w00t:

Yeah the refurbishment for the main shop has finished (it's huge now!!) but the car park is still having work done and is a real pain in the bum!! I agree, Sainsburys is the way forward!!

LOL! I was in the co-op yesterday, and they are doing there medium "Teen" eggs at 3 for £5! Superdrug were doing them £3.49 Bogof too!! You can get 6 for the same price in tesco, or 5 in sainsburys!! I bet they will have loads left after easter (YAY CHEAP!!)

I think i'll still get them in sainsburys as its nearer, and i cba travelling to tesco!

Lol! I don't know what tescos is like on sunday afternoon, but sainsburys in horsham at that time was absolutely manic! The queues were about 3/4 trolleys to a checkout, and nearly all of them were open, and the self scan checkouts also had a massive line too!

I wonder if these are people that are fed up with tesco?!

I think these are bigger than the asda 2 pound ones.

Wow! Sundays seem like the day to steer clear of Sainsburys then! I normally do my weekly shop at Sainsburys on a week night, it's pretty quiet then. I only went to Tesco as I had forgotten my lunch and wanted to see if they had finished the work.

I think you are probably right, the Tesco shoppers who can't be bothered with the car park all go to Sainsburys! I know thats what I've been doing! :-D

asda are doing the teen eggs for £2 which is expensive compared with most supermarkets, but about 2 wks ago they were doing the adult eggs £4.99 down to £2 each some asda still have a few left but they mostly are just the ones with the mugs. We got the galaxy minstrels and the mars and friends ones and the maltisers with the honeycomb inthe egg for £2 each!!!

According to Tesco Online (www.tesco.com) they have discounted the following from £4.99 each to 2 for £5. They are available from 14/3/08 until 23/3/08:

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel Egg 445g
Cadbury Dairy Milk Lrg Egg 445g
Galaxy It's All About Chocolate Egg 361g
Guylian Seashells Egg 285g
Maltesers & Friends Egg 316g
Terrys Toblerone Egg 270g

Shame about the calories ......

and round about sunday night mondqay morning, they all be even cheqaper lol and all be treating myself!!

Do NOT get any which are priced at £5.19 under the 2 for £8 deal, as these will come to £8 even if they are the Mars egg etc like I did today, otherwise you will get charged £8 and not £5. Feel a bit annoyed that I got ripped off (£6 worth of chocolate there at most), but my fault for going ahead with it since it was in the 2 for £8 despite the strange slightly higher £5.19 tag on the eggs... was charged this price down my local Tesco's petrol station. I think I'll go to Asda next time, on the way home.
#23
got 2 chocolate orange ones today at my tesco extra they were 2 for a fiver ..if i was you i would look at the tesco grocery website as they are 2 for a fiver then go back there and get refund
#24
Will be very happy, hypermanic children on Sunday - thank you!
#25
bought these in my local tesco express £ 5.19 each or 2 for £ 5.
