The Cumberland Bournemouth located directly on the seafront overlooking Bournemouth Bay has recently been rewarded a 4-star deluxe Hotel status. £12.10 for a coffee and a slice of cake, are they taking the pi55.

I want a pint of whatever they are drinking to think it's worth that,I just hope it's not Costa Coffee X)

I've stayed here before for one night on one of their dinner + B&B options - the hotel is very quirky, but the food was fantastic. We also had a free cream tea thrown in with our stay. Rooms are a little pokey and creaky, but nicely furnished. This is Bournemouth after all! Get there early if you want a parking space.

Isn't Bournemouth the place were people go to die?

Went to stay in a hotel on business and the owner asked for payment upfront which at the time was unusual practice. I asked why and he said it was because too many customers kicked the bucket overnight and he lost out LOL

I never cease to be amazed at the so-called AA 4* UK hotels that don't have air conditioning!

Please don't come here, we'd rather our local businesses had less custom and have less money in the local economy! Thank you!

Its known as "God's waiting room". Main problem is you're unlikely to get there before Christmas due to being stuck behind armies of Honda Jazz cars.

I think most seaside resorts are doing away with toilets and the ones that are left are quite often now ones you have to pay for.

Same goes for parking, most places have now put in pay and display meters at nearly every road within walking distance of the sea fronts/town.Personaly I don't think it should be allowed,we all pay more than enough to keep a car road worthy and legal and yet you get charged to stop the bloody thing at the side of the road,It's almost like it's an inconvenience for the council to have a tourist trade in the area and want to put people off visiting.

Hey! I live here! NO. No, no, no, absolutely not. How dare you.

My Mrs. loves it down on the south coast.

Here's a picture of her from this morning. She was enjoying some pampering time on our veranda:

That reminds me - she's still out there. I forgot. BRB.

That's what I like about the USA, you can stop in the middle of the desert and there's a damn toilet there. I think in the UK because of the weather, people venture out less and so councils think they can skimp on stuff.
