Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps : Complete BBC Series 1-6 Box Set

Next best price is £41.99 @ CD-WOW

Two Pints Of Lager & A Packet Of Crisps features the sex-fuelled lives of five late-teens/early twenty-somethings in the northern town of Runcorn. Janet is going out with Jonny, his best friend Gaz has started to date Janet's best friend Donna, and self-centred student Louise just wants a job to keep her in cigarettes. There's also Donna's sarcastic mother, Flo, constantly nagging her daughter to take up a 'proper' relationship with a worthy young man. Storylines followed the on-again/off-again relationships of the young protagonists who have lots of sex and meet in pubs. After the first series the show was initially broadcast on BBC Choice and its successor BBC3. The second series was shown by terrestrial BBC2 from 12 August to 16 September 2002, the third from 7 July to 15 September 2003, the musical special on 10 May 2004 and the fourth series from 17 May to 19 July 2004. The show's title was inspired by the 1980 hit single 'Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps Please' by "Splodgenessabounds".

I remember watching it when it first started and I couldn't believe how it ever got as far as being recorded but I was strangely drawn to it and am now a fan of it. Not sure if it was a case of suddenly "getting it" or whether it's a case of "so bad it's great"

Great price

No you are not too old you just have "taste" and are absolutely right.

Obligatory comment about how terrible this series is here.

the live eposide recently was great, also loved the " when johny met janet" eposide - was a musical was great!

I don't get it. If you don't like it why even enter the thread? Like everything in life: some people like it some people don't. If you don't, just ignore it and leave it to those that do. You're not going to change the minds of those that do by commenting in this thread. ;-)

I'd hate to think people who don't like it are voting cold on that basis and potentially ruining it (by sending it off the home page) for those who might be interested... The fact is it's a good deal because it's the best price around. That's what this site should be about.

It's aimed the younger generation and it's just a bit of mindless-fun comedy. I prefer this to the likes of The Royle Family (which I despise) and The Office, but I wouldn't call it a great show. Think I got if for something like £27.99 on Virgin's website some time ago, but that deal is long gone. Voted hot.

Poison - you're exactly right.

However people do feel the need to get on their high horse and have some negative input... leave them to it if it makes them feel better ;-)

This is great, cheeky and immoral, a a tongue in cheek ;-) look at real life in a Northern town.

And you do not have to be young to enjoy it, but maybe you have to have lived Ooop North?.

It would not have lasted the 7? years it has, if it were so unwatchable. the live show last January was brilliant, and such a young writer, how does she know so much:roll:

I loved the pasty/bridie episode... ;-)

Vote on the deal, not on the content.

To vote on the deal I must assess the content, which is rubbish.

...in your opinion

The price should be the key factor when voting on a deal, not personal opinion.

So you bought it, watched every episode, and are sending it back??????
Otherwise your opinion cannot count as valid.

Cheaper to just buy a Freeview box - the content on bbc 3 is basically the same as owning the dvd

Actually the quality is worse than a DVD player and I can't just put it on whenever I want and watch it at my own rate. The beauty of DVDs...
