Awesome camera and great price, got it earlier in the year. The zoom is incredible for something so thin and light!
#2
Great deal, love my TZ
#3

does it work with google drive?
#4
Just brought, pick up from local store, what a bargain, mega H a p p Y :D

Many Thanks poster ;)

Amazing camera. I'm using a tz30 and am considering this upgrade.

Great cameras.
#6
An amazin camera had a strong thought about this one but finally ended up with TZ60 an excellent piece of technology, love it ....
#7
What is the low light quality like on these? I have a tz10 and it's awful in low light.
#8
I had the TZ8 and TZ20, both were amazing, but in both instances after about a year got dust on the sensor, giving big black spots on every picture. I would love another one, but can't justify a 3rd one in 4 years!
#9
Got theTZ30 about 6 weeks ago on offer in Currys for less than £53.00 excellent camera at a more than excellent price
#10
Just bought this refurbished from Panasonic outlet for £180, will be returning it for this deal, thank you.
#11

(I'm feeling charitable)

#15

whats the difference between the Lumix DMC-TZ40 and the Lumix DMC-TZ40EB-S both £149 ?
#17
I think the EB-S is just the Silver model ?

I upgraded earlier this year from a TZ10 to the TZ40, I have been really pleased with it, apart from a minor issue on holiday when it decided to corrupt the memory card. I noticed yesterday that firmware 1.3 came out for it, so I have updated it, no idea what the firmware fixes though, but hopefully the memory card issue I experienced is in there. It could of course have been the card itself. The issue I experienced is the camera just suddenly announced the card was corrupt and couldnt be used. The images on the card were intact when I put the card in another camera though, so they weren't lost thankfully.

Fab price!!! Gutted, just ordered the refurb for £169...thinking now of returning it. Hasn't arrived yet lol, coming today...
#19
I have a TZ30 and the major downside for me is the absence of a viewfinder which, even if the screen brightness is set to maximum, is awful in bright sunlight. (For this reason my next camera probo be a Nikon DSLR)
#20
Just found 5% on quidco if that helps anybody. Any tips on cheap way of returning my camera (which hasn't arrived yet
#21
Just thought- maybe it might be possible to design and build a detachable rearscreen lightmask to overcome this problem?
#22
Welshgirl- refuse to take delivery

Got tz55 for £129 so not as good as I got from Panasonic

the latest TZ has the EVF now.

I also bought one of these last week from Panasonic outlet, the price was £169.99. I think I will just keep it as there is only £20 difference and once I have gone through the hassle of returning it at my cost, there will only be about £10 difference.
Win some lose some I guess and time to move on. Don't you just love HUKD
Well done OP!!

These are great cameras, I have the TZ30 which is almost identical and use it with the underwater housing all the time. It outputs some really great shots. The 1080p 50fps video is pretty good as well and the audio's not bad either for a compact camera. The programme settings like the Sunset setting and Minature effect settings are really good and fun to use for that different type of shot and not at all gimmicky. The only downside to my TZ30 which will be similar on the TZ40 is indoor night or low light shots, its very hard to get a nice clean shot unless the camera is steady and the subject is steady!

Thanks OP - just ordered.

For those that might need a spare battery and case this bundle is hard to beat also at £168.99 (for genuine Panasonic products):

Got tz55 for £129 so not as good as I got from Panasonic

I looked at the TZ55 in Costco but the absence of GPS ruled it out for me.

Ordered for collection, thanks op.

love the tz40 i bought 12 months ago . few points on above comments : the tz40 does have gps/maps . and it has wifi too . it takes great shots on sunset and at night taking people with night mode . the video is great and can shoot at 200fps too . i had a card fail but it was a bad card . buy branded high class speed from a proper online shop not all the fake crap off ebay . shame the white isnt on offer , it looks much better ;-)

Cheers definitive. I just emailed them and they said I could refuse delivery as it hasn't come yet! Haven't done that before, you learn all the time. The driver won't be happy I guess tho

whats the difference between the Lumix DMC-TZ40 and the Lumix DMC-TZ40EB-S both £149 ?

The TZ40 has a 2 year warrranty, the silver TZ40EB-S one has a 1 year warrranty. I wanted a silver one, but paying the same amount and getting a year less warrranty seemed ridiculous. Also, they don't offer the cheap case/battery pack deal on the silver one which is again ridiculous. Ended up getting the black one.
#39
Just ordered one thanks OP!
The careplan seems a good deal at £35 for 3 years cover (I think cheaper than it would have been now the price nips in under the £150) - is it worth going for?
#40
cant decide on this or the XF1.. though i`ll get into trouble for either :P
