Sampling is great fun! I think any kid over 5 will have a blast with this...I just picked one up a bit cheaper on eBay. I miss my Roland SP-808ex. This is a poor man's alternative

** Someone reading this just bought one from the same guy I did on ebay. Who was it? :)

To anyone who has this - are all the buttons on the pad (the sample banks) supposed to light up?

The screen shot from the blog matches what lights up on mine but I thought which sample you have active would also stay lit (as you must reselect to deactivate it).

By that way, I would recommend this as it is brilliant fun and was really surprised by how well the different features work. For example, if you record a sample from your mp3 player you can simply tap the BPM button in time to what you recorded so the rest of the in-built loops sync to it.

EDIT: Not all buttons light up as 'I've felt around for holes' underneath for the LEDs to poke through but it's solid plastic.
