I wonder if Asda are going to do the same or it's worth hanging fire to see if BangCD drop it to £4.99. I'd say Morrisons if you are desperate for it.

You can listen to it now, for free on Spotify

If you don't mind listening to music on your PC this could save you a lot of money.

It may be a bargain I s'pose, CDs seem to be dirt cheap these days if you know where to look!!

...I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole though, the most overrated group in the history of music...can't feckin' stand 'em!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but i'll disagree with you!

I cannot understand why U2 are so highly rated and everyone looks forward to there new albums with such hope... There last 2 -3 albums have had just one song of note on each and going by the BBC live lounge last week this album isn't much different... I think 'Bono' needs to be bought back down to earth a little...

But... voted hot for price as will appeal to some...

Hot price but I agree with the posts above.

U2 have released 2, now 3, very poor albums in a row. I realise critics in some circles disagree but I often wonder how much their opinions are guided by both expectation and the magazine/paper they write for. Buy U2's two original greatest hits albums, they contain all of the tracks worth having.

This is the 3rd best U2 album imo

Achtung baby
Joshua Tree
This

It is very good, possibly the most listenable album they have done since Achtung Baby. Well worth buying especially at this price

There are no weak songs on this album, I've listened to it about 30 times now or something

Agree with alot of the posts above BUT I'll vote this hot because if you're a fan it's a great price.

This is, however, a horrendously overrated band.

I just can't see how people can take Bono seriously. Has requested our hard earned cash for charity, stating how a few pounds can help save a child's life, yet pays for a private jet to fly his hat over to a gig... what a hypocrite! He'd save plenty of children if he just lived without that goddamn hat and put the money to better use. Whilst anyone that lives an extravagant lifestyle like him, they really, really aren't entitled to tell Joe Average on a Joe Average wage to hand over cash.

Personal opinions on their frontman aside ('cause it's supposed to be about the music and all that!) they are just incredibly overrated, and pretty average musicians writing basic songs. I can appreciate in the past they have written good tracks but as of the last 10 years, there's been nothing decent. As for their guitarist, well to quote a certain Maddox... "I used to think nicknames like 'The Edge' were cool. Then I turned 12".

I'm an "early day's" buyer of their albums.

Production / engineering is Sh*t hot every time, (although it takes me a good years listening to break down the albums sound, & they almost bankrupt themselves each tour getting the best (not necessarily loudest sound systems) ..I'd beed to go to a few nights gigs to be able to disseminate one!
..depends on your emotion, ears, Hi-fi system et al ...whatever bono is (& yes I'd like to slap him around a bit too) ..it's a band of four people, & engineers who work their ball off to get to the point of release!

NB plenty in Cambourne (Cambridgeshire) Morrisons.

I've never heard so much tosh, you're obviously not a fan if you throwing around comments like "overated". This band has done more for music in the last 25 years than most bands on the planet combined. How can you say the last 2-3 albums have been disappointing. How to dismantle an Atomic bomb & All that you can't leave behind are absolutely fantastic albums. I know that some of the early albums were ground breaking, but to survive in the music industry you have to be able to diversify, something U2 have done magnificently. What did you want another 9 albums that all sound like "The Joshua Tree"? I'm afraid that some people who don't like Bono also choose not to like the band. I'm sorry but bands like U2 just don't produce bad albums, they're just to damm good. Fact!!!

If anyone's a huge U2 fan, I was in Home Bargains and they had a gorgeous hardback book which should have been £30 for 99p! I had the kids with me so didn't pay too much attention, but it was def a hot deal!

I see what you're saying about people not liking Bono and in turn not liking the band, but that's kinda understandable I guess. I think because people find it hard to respect Bono that's bound to have an influece over their opinion on the band, it's only natural. Saying "This band has done more for music in the last 25 years than most bands on the planet combined" is just a wee bit too much, they've written songs that have lyrical hooks that grab people in and they write very successful pop rock records, which if that's your thing then great, but if you seek a bit more from your rock then this might not be the band for you.

I'll deffo agree that the production behind the albums is good as per MR GUS - we all know they've certainly got the cash to do it :)

Not saying they are **** by any stretch of the word, just not everyones thing, and at least from a technical point of view these last 10 years they haven't contributed anything groundbreaking to the music industry.

The point I was trying to make in my earlier post was that U2 are played on the radio on reputation alone (and a reputation that goes that 10 years ++). If they were a new band with the records they have at best they would be a one hit wonder. I doubt there music would even get BBC airplay if they were a new band with the current material U2 has...

I am disappointed by the hype that the BBC gives them over other artists... I don't see the killers or kings of leon (who are extremely popular in modern music) playing on top of the BBC or anything like that!

Yeah, that's what gets me. They should stick to music.

I was initially not a fan but the album is a grower. I like it but I wouldn't say it's their finest work.

I think the point to remember with anyone (bands, bosses etc) is don't let their ego over-inflate or get surrounded by Yes men that way "some" normality prevails, It was once someone in a big groups misfortune to be "up his ****" in a lift & being a little prima donna ...won't go into it too much but this involved the barging & insulting of a friends mum whose son was close to death at the time having been just visited by his parents who were staying in the same hotel, needless to say as a big chap I took umbrage at this display & knocked him about in the lift damaging his hand/ wrist in the process ...We got apologies from his fellow members and they pulled him out of the lift at the first opportunity.
I hope he played badly that night.
you've got to have grounding, not believe your own hype, listen & appreciate... I bet bono get's the pee ripped out of him at home something chronic for all his "band persona" .. (by mrs Hewson & the rest of the band) ...the Irish aren't shy & retiring after all.

..it's too easy to despise success though!

Good tip!
You reminded me of the name as I saw this on TV a few days ago.
